I have not been able to view online videos for a while now. And I really wanna see the 24 trailer. So here is my situation:

One day, I decided to try out windows media player 11 beta. It crashed a lot, so I uninstalled it and resinstalled windows media player 10. Ever since then, online videos don't work unless they use quicktime or flash, or youtube works.

What could be the problem? I tried looking at "codecs" and i tried other help tutorials on microsoft website, but nothing works. I've tried uninstalling 10 and reinstalling, but it doesnt make a difference.

Help!

Some sites still don't work with Firefox. Sucks, but that's how the cookie crumbles. If there's something else wrong with your PC, I really don't know.

I have a sort of similar problem on my laptop. Every flash animation, video, or... well anything short of pictures seems to just show a Quicktime logo with a question mark over it. I've reset what quicktime is supposed to handle, downloaded plug-ins for firefox, And followed guides saying how to fix it. But no luck. It does it for both Firefox and IE6, I havn't tried IE7 yet.

Yeah sorry for for sort of highjacking the thread...

its not a hardware malfunction, because the files on a cd show up in the BIOS screens, just not in windows
