Now we can have fun arguing with the general populace over whether characters should be able to jump or not, right?

EDIT: I'm really surprised that despite being required to log in with an SE account with FFXIV registered to it, you have to choose a username/nickname to post with instead of just using your character/server name.

EDIT2: That "Dev Tracker" thing though is going to be handy. Right now though it's all placeholder threads made from the list of features on the old producer letters.

i like how they posted each thing they are developing so that people may comment on them. however, the forums are already flooded with inane posts. One thing that scares me is how many people are satisfied with market ward over auction house. Sure, its similar and will do for now (that we have no alternative), but i wish i could just run up to a counter and buy something and move on with my life. The market wards are a lot of completely uncessary fuss and waste of time.

I wish my japanese was better to really read their forums.

i see some people who are both 50MRD & 50GLA are saying MRD is the better tank omg

Not surprising in the least. It's exactly the same as WAR and PLD back in FFXI:

WAR has better HP, holds hate through DD, plus a slew of hate holding abilities.
PLD has the best damage mitigation, holds hate through other means (healing magic, sub abilities).

MRD has better HP, holds hate through DD, plus a slew of hate holding abilities.
GLA has the best damage mitigation, holds hate through other means (traits, sub abilities).

A GLA with Aegis Boon and Deflection can be basically invincible every 30 seconds. Sentinel is usable every minute and halves all damage taken. Before you even factor in their high defense stat, they nullify 60% of their damage taken every minute. You want to minimise damage? GLA is your tank.

That said, right now the current batch of NMs aren't really suited to damage mitigation style tanking because they all seem to be made so that everybody gets hit either by spamming aoe or standard attacks that just hit everyone. Your mages are throwing out rapid-fire aoe cures just to keep the melee alive anyway.

And sure, your MRD could tank, but why gimp their damage output?

Hopefully none of this will even matter because we'll have Paladins in a few months.

i can say, i switched back to pure DD stats and gear in anticipation of the silver tricorne, and my damage is sooo much better.
