I bet the latent effect is activated when you sub Drg or etc. |

Yea the quest is pretty annoying... i lost interest in it after like 2 days haha. NPC asks for a Colored Chip and a gorget or Obi and a bunch of organs from the mobs in al'taieu. |

How do latent effects activate on neckware? |
Author: | Alderan [ Thu Apr 14, 2005 8:30 am ] |
Post subject: | |
that one activates on light day, there is one for each of the elemental days, and it turns on, on that perticular day |

If that's the case then I guess it makes sense to get the Gorget that matches your most powerful WS's element and/or skillchain element. Give it an even bigger boost on that day. There is an Obi and Chip for each element correct? I'd assume the pair you get determines which Gorget you recieve. |

Wow nice, I guess that was kind of obvious sense it said "Light Gorget". But anyways, I bet RNGs would kill for the whole set (i.e. Fire Gorget, Earth Gorget, etc.) Then they could macro it in for Sidewinder or Slug Shot. Increased WS Accuracy and Damage. Thats screaming at RNGs to "come get me". Is it possible to get one for every day of the week (game time). Like is the quest repeatable and depending on what day u turn in the materials determines which gorget u get? |

If you want the gorget you turn in a chip and a gorget. If you want the obi you turn in a chip and a silver obi. |

Is the quest even repeatable? I remember hearing someone complain that they didn't get the Obi they wanted like they couldn't repeat the quest to get another one, which could be entirely possible. A lot of rare/ex quest rewards can never be repeated if you drop them. Items like Titan's Cudgel, and Garuda's Dagger are good examples. And how many of you kept the Rare/Ex Lv.7 "Wing Pendant" (AGI+1) from the Sandy quest in the Church? I still have mine, lol, beats using Leather Gorgets. Storage is awesome for keeping rare/ex lowbie gear crap. |

Oh ok, so the color of the chip determines the type of gorget, ic ic. Is it repeatable to get multiple Gorgets or Obis for different days of the week? |

The quest is repeatable, but a serious pain. Some of the gorgets need multiple organs from the UFO NMs in sea that completely strip you of all gear when you fight them. lol It's fucking annoying. Btw, that shit would be better for DRK or SAM than a RNG. |

Thanks for clearing the repeatable part up Rein. But I have a question, why would it be better for SAM and DRK? Do the miss their WS a lot? or is it to just increase their overall DMG? Educate me wise one with good hair ;P P.S. - Ket we posted at the same time so I apologize if my question seems identical to yours lol |

I'm a Mnk, and it still has me drooling....the added ACC and dmg for our multi-hit WS's like Raging Fists and Asuran Fists...I repeat my previous post in the form of "/droooooooool ![]() |

SAM are notorious for missing WS. And DRK have the best WS for end-game mobs and to pin hate on tanks, granted we have the proper TP. ;[ For SAM who are TP machines with the right equip, if they miss a WS, it's not *that* big of a deal, but it's always nicer to be consistant. And for DRK more DMG to pin on a tank is nice too. I've never been overly impressed with RNG, but that's just me. Everyone else creams over them. ;p Edit: MNKs need a nerf so bad. But Asuran Fists sucks until 75 anyway. Haha. |

By god, if you screwed up my juju and jinxed us monks and we're nerfed in this next update, I'll....I'll...Whine and bitch, as my options are kinda limited to only that...BUT THERE'LL BE HELL TO PAY! Nagging, whining, bitching brimstone! ![]() |

Only way to solve the problem is more end-game level spots or give the other classes more real abilities. Double Attack, Kick Attacks and Triple Attack (provided you have indras) are all on the monks ability list, fucking uber haste gear, and awesome JA. So it's easy to see their superiority to other melee classes in KRT and other exp zones. When you get that many chances to attack, you'd have to really really try in order to suck. lol I'm still sticking to Samurai being the most misunderstood class. It easily has the potential to rival a MNK. It's just really expensive to balance out SAMs needs with ATK and STR, since there's a lack of gear outside of Abjuration that really boost a SAM's ATK without sacrificing other needed stats. |

Like what? ![]() I got thf to 70 and hated the end game stuff. I hated doing the same damage at 70 that I did at 30 when I first got Trick attack. Then I saw Dyeung and Ahwong in sky completely raping everything and I decided that was for me. ![]() |

What exactly could they do to nerf ranger? Looking at parsed logs at aura statue and aura weapon fights, even RNG are outdamaged by WAR/NIN spamming their ws, (rampage) and MNK/whatever spamming asuran. The only difference is that every 5 minutes or whatever the barrage cool down time is, they basically get a free ws plus damage equal to a ws. |

They don't need to nerf RNG. It's MNK they have to nerf. ;p |

Wait...I don't get it? Some people tell me it increase the WS on "light day" (for light gorget) while other tell it increase light WS Also, what do I do with my War's ws since they are all "no element" |

I couldn't tell if Matti was being sarcastic. I'd only been up a bit, haha. I'd rather see improvements in other jobs over nerfing. Like... giving SAM an accuracy bonus trait. Speaking of SAM, how is that Zenshin trait? I haven't partied with any SAM in a long time. |

Dunno what rng's or mnk's your comparing. I'm a rng, ofcourse i'm biased. But I saw endgame dmg and it's why I chose this job. Rng is the ONLY melee job that has to choose a sub based on protecting themselves...not dealing more dmg. Even with nin sub a good rng will out dmg any other melee. And a rng with Obow even gives others a boost in dmg, but hey they have to constantly pay for their job. Should they be gimped? I think no ofcourse, but they have far more acc then any other job in the game, allowing them to eat dmg food against XP mobs with no repercussions and with acc food on Gods makes them as easy to hit as XP mobs. I have much love for monks especially after seeing one on a day to day basis, and on bones it's sick. The few war/nin's i've seen can do incredible dmg and tank as well. I've seen some great drg's sam/thf's and other jobs with a new lvl of dmg I hadn't seen previous in this game. But it sadly still does not compare to a rng...the numbers in dmg/dly weapons, accuracy etc just dont' add up. To add my own little rant, rng's still get no good endgame WS's nor a weapon endgame. war, drg, sam, drk, mnk, etc all get a weapon of some kind or multiple weapons that are lvl 73+. Rng endgame weapon is like lvl 55 for the best weapon, or 67 for the obow (which isn't great on gods or anything you cannot defense down). So lvl 55 is the best weapon for a rng...20 lvls old. Already gimped? :D |
