Why didn't he just ask for his item back? Saying the money isn't his because it was stolen means the item didn't belong to who had it because he obtained it through "illegal" means.

He is most likely not going to get his item back. If the person stole the gil what makes someone think they will give an item back? The GM was half retarded. When was the last time you heard of the FBI busting a store because someone paid with stolen money but not going after the theif?

Poor player... that GM was doing some BS stuff too... granted, the money was "blood" money, so to speak... but obviously the player had no way of knowing that...

I once heard that almost all $20 bills in the U.S. have traces of cocaine on them, since so much of it has passed through the drug industry... but cops aren't swooping in on all of those people with those $20's. (Off topic note: I probably read it somewhere on these boards, lol, I sure don't remember where i read/heard it offhand)

That GM had no right taking that money, he should have taken the item from the player who obtained the money illegally, that would have been much more fair and logical.

The way the GM described it, along with how the player responded, it seemed to me that he traded something not worth those mils. Ya know, to kinda get rid of stolen money.

I think he was just mad he got caught.

Per the updated terms of service GM's have the power and the right to do this when stuff like this comes up and the investigation reveals wrong doing.
