a new black and white movie by french director: anton corbijn who did all of depeche mode's music videos that was just released in some small theatres across the US. It's about the life and death of joy division's singer: ian curtis. I heard it's based primarily on "touching from a distance" which is an autobiography written by ian's widow deborah curtis about their life together. I thought the film did well to portray ian in a realistic light, it didn't make you feel sorry for him, but it also didn't make you resent him like I've heard the book makes you. It was a little long, but it held my attention the whole time. Definitely a must-see for any joy division/new order fans... prolly not so much if you dont know who joy division is.

from what I've heard from critics: yes, it's very good if you like joy division. If you don't like joy division, don't bother
