Yea, GMs are worthless. Only thing I see them being useful is showing their face during HNM camps. Since they can "supposedly" detect use of 3rd party programs. I would like to have GMs around to prevent MPK and so they can detect 3rd party programs at HNM camps. Thats about it.

I just find it amusing to catch them off guard occasionally and get them to admit stuff they probably shouldn't if they're trying to uphold some sort of reputation or whatever. ;p

Some GMs are cool, but the large majority of them I feel use a macro editing program to respond to any situation.

i think for sqaure to properly maintain this game and continue it going onward, it needs to rethink the way it handles GM's roles. Racism is one thing that needs to be addressed. SPeaking english in this game has alot of disadvantages, and there translator simply doesn't cut it

The FFXI GMs haven't been to bad for me. They just can't do anything about the problems. About 15 people got MPKed by "Friend" in qufim yesterday and I called a GM. All he was able to do was say "That sucks, sorry=/".

Oh well. They're nice, at least

They go on whatever evidence they have (chat logs and/or viewing the actual incident, both can happen quite often), and they deal appropriate action. But they can't tell you what they did with the offender. It sounds like you had to call a GM for an MPK one time, what happened?

I haven't seen any changes in the ToS at all since I've been playing, but I don't pay a ton of attention to it.

You'd figure as more and more people do different things they'd add rules, but I'm just living in some silly fantasy world apparently. ;p

Couple MPK attempts on Pts when I had my whm. Where the party said in say "lets MPK them" then trailed down mobs on to us and died. We would tele out and then come back to xp and it would happen again. each time I called a GM each time they told me there was nothing they could do and I should blist them and enjoy my stay. GM's are entirely worthless unless you glitch up in this game. Some are cool but still dont do anything and will sometimes admit they cant do anything.

Actually I have similar experience and the GM actually did something.

Someone threaten to MPK, so I called a GM and told him that I was being threatened, he said he can't do anything about the verbal threat, I agree, but I told him if he can watch where I am for a bit lest an MPK occur and that if an MPK do occur and me and my PT loses exp for this.. it's really unfair, the GM agree and said tell me not to worry about the exp loses if we do indeed get MPK (a raise III from a GM? @_@?) while we were still talking.. the other person did train a mob on us. My PT zoned. The next thing we know... the other PT disband and all warped away. The next day I hear from someone else that the person who tried to MPK us got send to jail.

it doesnt matter if they died, does it? he had the intent to kill and thats good enough imo.
