If I remember correctly, Vader pitchs the idea of turning Luke in Empire Strikes Back. so in A New Hope, he somehow got to Vader while they were trying to kill him.

this movie had so many open holes in it i couldn't help it but laugh. Yoda was honestly funny. The love scenes killed me lol. I feel beautiful... thats because i love you wtf? I laughed out loud in the theater haha

I dont think Obi-wan 'left' him alive. Im pretty sure Obi-wan thought he was dead (being on fire and all). That scene signified Anakin using the force to stay alive.

Or at least thats how I saw it.

Earlier in the movie, after Obi-Wan saw the security hologram of Anakin killing the children Jedi, Obi-Wan told Yoda that he cant kill Anakin and he will not. Thats y I think he didnt land a killing blow. Obi-Wan was probably hoping he would die to the fire/lava so he wouldnt have to actually kill him.

Saw it this weekend, and I thought it was pretty good. Noticed the same deficiencies and holes the others did. The main thing I didn't understand was this: if the Jedi are supposed to be able to sense other Jedi, then how in the world could they not know the Chancellor dude was the Sith Lord? And I agree with Mikey, the love scenes were shaky at best. And did anyone else have a problem with the transition of Anakin to evil Anakin? I mean, come on, one minute he is exposing the Sith Lord, and the next minute he is killing off the little kid Jedi's? I thought they did a poor job with that.

think about it this way. It was said in the movie the jedi think of nothing but for others. THe sith think of only themselves. Meaning jedi are open and the sith on the other hand have a more closed nature to themselves

It is stated throughout all 6 episodes that the Dark side of the force possess power that the Jedi cant/dont use. They always mention how mysterious the Dark side is.

They didnt sense him as the Sith lord because * spooky noises* "the dark side clouds all parts of the mind" or some shit. That was drilled into our heads in every movie.

Same way they got trapped in that force bubble thing in the begging of the new one.

i read somewhere that they are going to be making a TV series or something to continue the plot and explain what happens in the years between the Episode 3 and 4 and tie up more loose ends
