Anyone know how much of a bonus to Woodwork the drawing desk gives? I just got this last night and would like to know. I have gloves and apron also and I know that they both give +1 each. I've heard some people say the desk gives +1 too, others say +3 and a few say +5 depending on the day...Anyone know for sure?
-thanks

Not that I know anything about crafting, but I think it varies between 1 and 3 depending how strong is the element in your moghouse (+furniture gives stronger element). No clue if day can add another +2

you need 101 earth energy in your mog house for overwhelming to yield a +3 in woodworking skill. your looking at a pretty heavy commitment of inventory space to do this. i did this with the leather item (needs ice energy though):

Alchemy has it made. Emeralda needs lighting element in MH.

Yeah youre gonna want overwhelming earth enegery in your MH. Make sure when choosing an item to load up on, its the cheapest(duh) and its earth strength is less than your gp item. Otherwise you'll end up with the moghancement of that other item.

If you knew all that already, feel free to flame me.

Man oh man...I had so much trouble with this today. Really I should've read the somepage.com furniture link above, BUT...i didn't, i went straight to the chart with the energy values.

After reading that I needed 101 earth I went and bought a bunch of the highest earth energy furnitures...The GP Drawing Desk is valued at 9 and i had a bunch of oak tables valued at 10. Plus I had a bunch of yellow jars, some work benches and some maple tables. Everything was going great until i threw in the oak tables and my Moghancement turned to gardening... took me a while to figure out why, but I eventually did. I thought that as long as I had at least 51 earth energy coming from Earth Moghancement items it would work...but it doesn't.

I feel like an idiot and I'll have a bunch of Yellow Jars lurking in my mules' inventories as a painful reminder. Anyone want some free Yellow Jars?

I ended up with these furnitures: 6 work benches, 2 maple tables, Drawing desk, the 3 easter eggs and 9 yellow jars. Weird thing is...after I set all this up I went to craft...maybe it was just a bad session but my HQ rate for ash, arrow lumber and bolts and arrows seemed to drop pretty severely...anyone else experience phenomenon such as this? If so, why does this happen?

Thanks for all the help^^

-Rahs

Testing HQ is never easy 'cause no one knows the exact factors. My guess here is that the overwhelming earth energy is affecting your synths.

Now dont take this as 100% truth, as you low HQ rate may just be the course of bad luck. Popular belief is that elements your crystal is weak to produce better HQ results. Lumber is a wind crystal synth, but the crystal is actually strong to earth element. Also your arrow synths use an earth crsytal, which again your MH element isnt strong over.

Honestly, I blame it on bad luck. Try synthing outside your MH, or hell using lightning crystals or something(not desynthing, if such a ww recipe exists).

i made a bunch of Cythara Anglicas today and then desynthed them. No losses and returns were ok... well as far as returns on that synth go. So lightning worked better than before. BUT i think it was bad luck cause i did well on HQing today, however I failed a lot more than usual but the HQing compensated for that nicely.

Here's a screenshot of my MogHouse right after I got drawing desk, but right before I changed all the furniture to get 101 Eartth energy.

And here is after, with 101 earth energy.

actually, it was pretty funny the other night...i had flee active when i zoned into my MH and ended up in the back right hand corner of the room before the furniture loaded. Then it loaded and I was stuck in the corner...took me a while to figure out how to get out because my inventories were full so I couldnt juggle items to remove furniture. I ended up finding a way to move the furniture...for a brief second i thought i was gonna have to call a GM to get me out

I have overwhelming energy goldsmithing moghancement but as I see people believe that you will only get +1 from it not +3. The power & overwhelming are only give you more chance of not losing the material when you fail the synth. That's why many JPs high lv crafters only put +3 on their comment. Still no one knows for sure if they count as +1 or +3 it just the matter of believe.

from my experience im leaning to say its only +1 and you dont lose materials as often, on normal synths i save material alot when i fail, just the shit i fail is 100% loss so it sucks haha (haubergeon, odorous knife to name 2)

Another thing is most of crafters in other forum call themselves 100+6 which are from + 2 armor + 1 furnishing + 3 guild support.

fuck counting +3 from guild support, i still say it nerfs hq rate from personal experience heh, explain how at 90+ skill it took 70+ haubergeon synths to hq 1, when that should be about a 10% hq rate heh.
