Actually no. Though Ea does support xbox it will do the same probably even more for the ps3. Honestly what pushes the scales and has always pushed have been japanese compaines like sqaure, namco and konami.

Lets not forget the next metal gear is coming for ps3, the next installment even though square is being vague is coming for ps3. Gran turismo vision is coming on ps3 too . All these games are major major system sellers. Forgot to mention, Devil may cry 4, god only knows i love the entire series

You know, I love my PS2 and all that, but if the PS3 really turns out to be five HUNDRED dollars, there's no conceivable way I could buy it, games be damned.

I <3 Revolution, if for no other reason than its supposedly reasonable price point (200-250ish, most predict). PLEASE, Nintendo, don't drop the ball...

Oh, and in other news today, the DS dropped twenty dollars to $129.99, and the Game Boy Micro got a concrete release date of September 19th.

well heres something to think about. I went to preorder the xbox 360 right. Well anyway i asked the rep to see how much it was gonna cost. He then told me he doesn't a price. When i was swiping my debit card, i noticed the msrp on the screen saying 499.99. Thats pretty steep. But theres a chance ms is seriously considering releasing it for 299.99

Iwata (Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president) stated that the Revolution will not exceed 300 at launch, and an NPD Analyst Report figured around 200-250...I doubt I'd be able to find the link again, but I figure it's pretty accurate. Nintendo wouldn't risk alienating its audience with a high price point, and besides, they're not putting in a lot of the expensive bells and whistles the 360 and the PS3 are.

Yeah 200 seems max to me. It's trying to be small and sleek.

ponuh to answer your question, microsoft annonced the price today. 299.99 for the basic xbox 360, and 399.99 for the deluxe package.

actually ms just did a big mistake in my view....

the regular verison on xbox 360 doesn't have a HD

while the other higher priced one does. that means developers are going to be at odds making games that use one function in the system that may or may not be there.

I think Microsoft is making a mistake even releasing the $299 version. Yeah, it may sound more attractive, but anyone who's buying a 360 at launch is probably going to buy the deluxe version anyway (omg the HD grafix r insane u need it) and like Mikey said, having an "optional" hard drive might as well mean not having one at all, since developers can't count on it being there.

Its a marketing ploy. Its just for them to techincally say they released the xbox 360 at a resonable price. They are doing this directly because of what sony said about the ps3. Thing is sony has time to find ways to lower prices, by the time ps3 comes out the graphics card it uses will cost less to produce..

After playing God of War (omfg a non-ff game i loved for ps2) at a friend's house, I think I can get behind sony as a somewhat quality company. They seem to be lukewarm water in the middle of the fire and ice opposites of nintendo and xbox. Nintendo saying "let's focus on gaming overall" and xbox saying "grafix>all and a whole bunch of multimedia shit that no one wants"

that made no fucking sense.
