Recently it has come to our attention that an unauthorized third-party software tool was made available to the public. This tool allows players to change their job from anywhere in Vana 'diel.

In response to this, an emergency maintenance was carried out on Sep. 4 13:00 to 16:00 (PDT) to prevent further use of this tool within FINAL FANTASY XI.

As a result of an ongoing investigation, it has been determined that over 600 accounts will be either suspended or terminated for the malicious and intentional use of this third-party tool.

We would like to take this time to remind our players that the use of any third-party tools to change or modify the game in any way is strictly prohibited in the PlayOnline environment. We will continue to take any necessary actions against those individuals that we have confirmed to have used such tools.

Please note that by using these third-party tools, the consequences may extend beyond action being taken against your account. Some tools may cause character information to be altered, erased, or personal information to be leaked to unwanted third parties. If you come across a third-party tool over the internet, we ask that you please refrain from the download of such a tool, no matter how minor it may appear to be.

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter.

same here, but then... i'm on ps2 so it's not like i could make use of it, even if I did.. I enjoy the game just fine w/o all the nifty tools and dat mods and shit.. only thing i wish i had was fraps. Why can't we take screenshots of text?!?! ><;

Seems pretty useless except that when you legally change your job your timers (all but 2hr) reset. If that tool did the same thing then I guess it would be pretty bad since you could keep job changing to reset Divine/Elemental Seal and Convert, etc.

Edit: Forgot that it would also restore your HP/MP as well... okay it's pretty bad heh.

exactly lol, you could really go solo almost anything if it did reset your ability timers and hp/mp. just fight something and change your subjob back and forth for unlimited health..

It restores HP/MP, nice if your fighting a mob like Vrtra and your a tank that needs a major cure or refresh. But still, cheating is cheating and if you are caught you must suffer the consequence.

it would also be helpful @ kirin or DL when u need a member to change from one job to another, like Ilma changing from WAR to BLM for DL, or Yarr changing WHM to DRG to prove he's retarded

At least 20+ people on Hades already confirmed suspended and/or banned. Some of these people with FULL AF2 in more than 1 job and all sorts of ABJ gear, big time leaders of LS's and such. One LS had about 5 -10 of their best players banned permanently we have heard.

You would have to be stupid to believe in that.

When SE closes an account they ban you for 3 days 1st to review it with account admin, then close your account. So even if they were suspended, you wont know for 3 days if the account was closed.

Talked to some of the people personally numbnuts. Some were banned right off the bat and other got 3 day suspension with pending outcome.

Some probably for repeated offenses but I know at least a few who were terminated.

well there one thing I will say about those program. CHEATER!!!!!!! You Son of Bitch!

Well there no fun in it if you cheat and just wasted your and someone time when your BUSTED! so I dont like to cheat and run my fun down the drain, then get bored irl for nothing.

I am here to have fun and EARN what I done for real as rule say I can and cant do.

You would be amazed if you knew how many people really cheated in this game, it is absolutely astonishing.(Not that i know but i know its ALOT more than what I used to believe it was) What sucks about it is that if you dont cheat well guess what, you aint gettin JACK SHIT because you can bet your ass the guy just across the way sure as hell is.

But i guess thats the way it is with any game that is played on a PC these days. HAX and 3rd party programs ohhhhh doesnt that sound fun!!!

Who cares if someone else cheats and you don't. Doesn't mean you have to. It's just an excuse people use to not feel guilty about cheating themselves. I did the same shit in Starcraft back in 1999 and haven't touched a hack since I stopped using it in that game and found out how much better than game got when I didn't use someone else's code to play the game for me.
