Im kinda torn on what job to do after I get drg to 75. My blm is currently 44 and I enjoy it alot but im also thinking rdm may be fun too. Plus im kind of worried blm may get nerfed and since im elvaan it could be really bad. Just wanted some input from blms and rdms on what they think about their job.

Depends on what you want. If you want to level fast, never spend much time seeking for party, stay busy during XP parties, have fun soloing great things, including the prime avatars...go RDM.

If you want to do lots of damage, go BLM.

I'm pretty biased but 75RDM and 59BLM so I have experience with both.

but BLM rarely has trouble seeking a PT, from my experience. but there are a lot more RDM than there used to be it seems.

i went both ways. I love both jobs actually. Blm has alot of perks good damage and such. Rdm have adaptability. They can pretty much do what they want when they solo.

I am a 75 blm and I know that I hate pting on the job now. Its a cool looking job but its so boring to play in pts. I've lost all interest in getting merits on blm because I cant stand being in a pt for more then 10 mins on it. HNMs are kinda fun on blm but pting just flat out sucks. Just my opinion.

rdm is a lot more fun to play.. there's more to do, and you can playthe job of a blm too if need be. albeit not as destructive..

it's still fun though, which is basically what it comes down to lol.

To tell you the truth, BRD is even better/funnier then RDM or BLM. You might consider giving that job a shot. It's kinda like BST but once you hit lvl 25+ you'll feel a lot more useful.

RDM is fun but it's a jack of all trades kinda job. After awhile you'll feel weak compared to BLM elemental wise, post 50-60 you'll realize BRD overall excel support wise in terms of songs, and you start to bitch and moan about wtf RDM don't get Regen 2 or Raise 2 /cry. Go RDM if you don't want to excel in spefic section besides Enfee magic.

blm is way better. rdm gets boring, eventualy due to stupid people you will end up main healing and get bitched at for missing a refresh. i loved blm and so does arim, and not only that. i fought arim (60rdm) as my ^0 blm in ballista 1v1. and i kicked his ass. we did 2 magic fights and one weapon fight... i stood no chance against a sword. but w/e

i just know that rdm sucks later cause of hearing arim complain about it every pt he had, just pm him and he will give you the pros/cons

rdm isnt boring heh, theres 3987453498054 things you can be doing, blm seems fun but for some reason every blm sucks and they all get bored of it haha (ill exclude ilma hcc and a few others but mikey definitely sucks as blm, well ok he sucks as rdm too, in fact mikey even sucks as a puerto rican, hes all like wtf do i eat beans or pork frie rice i forget cuz i sux at being puerto rican) i think brd is the most boring ass shit in the fucking world, how people love that job ill never understand. rdm is alot more fun when you have a whm in pt, i used to just not exp without a whm, and i didnt like pting with blm either cuz like i said theyre all like mikey and sux bad and i brow shit up better on rdm than they do on blm and im all like i pwn your confused puerto rican ass.

BLM is really nice to have if like ruby said, you dont suck at it. but most blms (90%) suck anyhow, so dont its kinda pointless. and if you suck at BLM, you wont be any better as a RDM, therefore you should just avoid a mage job anyway ;p

in all seriousness, people say RDM has solo capabilities, a good BLM can solo about just as much a rdm, with only a couple exceptions (minor HNMs that RDM used to be able to solo pre-SSJ update)

I have to agree with this, blm have very nice soloing capabilities. Almost everything that can be slept can be solo'd (granted it doesnt have 1000000 hp). BLM is very fun at lower lvls, but as you hit 70 there are no real exp zones for you. resist-rate on golems can get messy, weapons have a natural magic taken-some %. more parties will be looking for other melee jobs rather than blm, since you fight VTs mostly at 75 and melee jobs will have higher DoT. But, BLMs are vital to any HNM ls, so that may be a perk.

On the other hand, RDMs get invites to KRT, sky exp and normal pts constantly. RDM also have great soloing capabilities and play key roles in HNM ls.

whatever you choose, you will have fun with. both are very fun jobs to play and good choices for the future.
