Yeah, that's ridiculous. I always liked the fact that random battles were balanced to the level of your party, but sometimes it just whipped out BS like that and screws you over.

On another note, maybe that's what you get for using emulators and ROMs. :O

(On second thought, who am I kidding...in the last week alone I've downloaded around 20 songs, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and Macromedia Fireworks. Never mind.)

you never got this before? I was able to kill all the monks once but wait till you get the random battle in the forest with all ninjas and monks. Like 9 of each and they all wear earth doublets and if you got their hp to 1/2 they would just do that earth wave move and cure each other back to full. Then they just blew me up. Not even Orlando stood a chance :-(

oh man that reminds me of when you have yellow chocobos in the mix. They all start curing eachother and the fights take forever.

theres one fight on barius hill (i think?) with like 11 of the hardest monsters in that game that always seemed to piss me off, the monk one isnt that bad if you have a decent setup for killing quick (i think when i had that encounter i was mostly lancers so i just jumped lol)

and im with kwechi, chocos in tactics make me angry

I like the 8 calculator encoutners. They get one turn before they die usually ( caus ethye so slow), but man if you go to the wrogn squares and stuff you could get ravaged most fiercely.

HOLY SHIT WHERE DO I GET THAT EMULATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ya, that mnk fight is pretty hard, you need to either use beowulf's don't act spell, mustadio's snipe skirr, and use other ranged abilities.

Ya, the barius hill w/ like 3 king behemoths, 4 dark tiamats, etc is a tough battle too

ya, i love sniping ppl w/ dont act, makes fights soooo much easier

the past couple times i have been playin through the game i've been trying to use less special characters and more normal ones. I usually have my melees as ninjas or lancers, cuz lancers get the ranged, and ninjas just fuckin rock.

every time I play tactics I lvl to max lvl before I finish the 1st chapter lol. I remember I had rune blades before I finished 1/2 of the 1st chapter XD

i had a party of:

whisp bard/chemist
thunderstomp monk/squire (for boost)
shiloh knight/priest
mikey wizard/oracle
yarr priest/summoner

but i got to that one battle where ramza has to solo wiegraf... and i haven't leveled ramza up, so it's impossible, and i quit. oh well.

And on another note... its not necessarily ILLEGAL... since the game CAN play (and i have tried) PSX cds in your cdrom.

The general plugins for ppl with decent comptuers are:
Pete's GPU (latest version)
and Eternal Sound plugin (latest version)

All are in the http://www.ngemu.com site just gotta click on "Playstation" or search their site for ePSXe downloads.

There are many "issues" with all kinds of diff. games, like certains games won't run on the latest ePSXe... but usually ppl with the emulator only want to play 1-2 games. Check out their forums for a LOT more info.
