Yeah, I've been MIA for a long while, I've kept in contact with CKD via the Private forums and Mysidians through other sources and games. Logged on for the first time in months and started giving away my stuff to people in CKD/Mysidians that could make use of it. I'm keeping my account active just in case the urge hits me again in the future, all my valuables are with people I trust and my gil is invested in the two LS's I love the most.
I'll miss the experience of FFXI, leveling, parties, permas, AF, quests, missions... but most of all, the people I met along the way. I wrote a shorter version of this following post on the private forums but I think the people I've met in game that have truely made it a fun and rewarding experience should be saluted in a shout out as I say farewell to Vana'diel.
Whisp - Without a doubt, the most influential person I've played this game with. Probably the best friend I've made in this game, we'd grouped since Crawler's Nest and leveled together so much you'd think we never spent time apart. Whisp was always the first to pass on those uber items to allow his friends to get their gear and the last to take awesome things, a great guy in everyway. Gear or not he still stands out to me as being the best WHM on the server that I have ever seen because, mostly, of his attention to detail, he knew everything about the ins and outs of WHM and how to use them. Whisp, I'll miss you most of all.
TS - How do I mention Whisp without Thunderstomp? This is another great guy, funny, helpful, excellent player and an all around great guy and if you remember TS, you were the catalyst for our perma to start. I grouped with you in CN without the rest of the group and I must've made and immpression because the next day you sent me a tell from Windurst asking me to party and that's how it all started. Without that I don't know if my experience in FFXI would have been anywhere near the same, thank you, TS.
Yarr - Ah Yarr, the other WHM in my life, let me tell you this, there is no one and I mean no one that has gained my respect more than this man has. Yarr takes all the heat for everything that happens with our LS, when we kill a King and Yarr brags on us (when he wasn't even there) and people call him a braggart and a jerk he takes one on the chin with pleasure to let everyone know that he's proud of the members of our LS. Yarr has probably made a lot of enemies because he put our interests before he put his own, just like an LS leader should, I just want to thank Yarr for the oppurtunity to be in CKD and I hope that I can make it up to you in some way if that urge to play hits me again. Leave Yarr alone or you'll have to answer to me irl
Mikey - When I first met Mikey it was during the infamous LB1 papyrus hunt and I thought he was on the verge of committing suicide... lol Poor guy said he'd been down there for days and hadn't gotten a paper yet so the alliance of our perma and Murph's perma took in Mikey and helped him get his paper. Mikey turned out to be, by far, my favorite BLM on the server and along with Talisin the funniest people I have ever heard on voicechat. Mikey is also probably the most giving person on the server as well, he was walking around broke because all his money was going to help others and he was wearing the cheapest equipment he could buy. Mikey, your the coolest guy to ever whip out a dagger on BLM and try to skillchain.
Talisin - When you talk to Tal in game and talk to Tal on VC its seems like your talking to two different people I swear to god, but in the end, you come to the conclusion they're both really awesome people. Tal, no one flirted with the ladies of Ifrit more than you thats for sure. After I finally got to know you after listening and talking to you on VC I wish we could've talked more because you were nothing like I thought you would be, I think I told Mikey that one day. Take care of my PLD gear and take care of my Mikey while your at it.
Kirana and Lirael - Send your hate mail to them, I'm playing WoW right now because they tricked me. I met them in Khazam and they killed me so much that they invited me into their guild Mysidians that I've been in for so long I can't remember now. This BF and GF team are two of my favorite people always there to have fun, never put loot before the game and always there to defend a friend under fire. Mysidians turned into the Non-HNM version version of CKD in my opinion, a tight knit group of friends that were great players and genuinely liked eachother. A part of me left FFXI when they left, I got mad on the outside but it was probably sadness. I'm proud to be a Mysidian and I'm even prouder to call Kir and Lir my friends.
Kristine and Ainel - Before I met Whisp there was this Rogue DRK that I met in Mysidians that I ended up always hanging out with. I loved Kris, she always wanted to run around and hunt lowbie NM's and do dorky quests later we added a WHM Ainel who later became a BRD in my last perma to our little trio and we always ran around doing dorky quests and NM hunts or AF quests or leveling lowbie jobs. Ainel was the quiet type but was always awesome at whatever job she played and one of the nicest people ever, much love. Kris seemed to always know how to get anywhere for anything, I did almost all of my low level quests and missions with her and Ainel. I'll always miss you two and I'll pop in when I can to say hi.
Elynor - What can I say about Ely except she's just awesome. I don't think I've ever not had fun when we started a group to do things. Mostly we formed our little groups for BCNM's or ENM's to have some fun in Mysidians with Slo and Claus and company. Ely, your the Mysidian I wish would come around Shadow Moon more often and hang around cause I miss having you around. Your just an awesome person in everyway and wish I had 30 hours in a day just so I could log in more often...
Alexeia and Kailix - Another pair I can't name apart because it just wouldn't seem right. I really can't remember how we met but I do know I met Alexeia first and Kailix later when I learned that they were attached at the hip... haha Two more of my favorite people just because I could always count on being able to have a conversation with them at any level be it lighthearted or serious and we could always have fun too running BCNMs and later ENMs was always fun and Kailix always loved to try to beat me up. I'm sure glad Alexeia was a WHM so the bruises healed fast. Hope you two return soon so we can talk again, I miss you both a lot.
Krillison and Nyiara - Yarr's known Krill since the beta and Nyi is his girlfriend who came on later and is just as awesome, both Mysidians and both very cool. Nyi's my long lost sister or something because we're very alike except for that small racial difference... but two stellar people that I will miss very much.
Murph and Althena - And the pairs keep coming but who doesn't remember the make-out sessions with these two? I loved these two seriously, our two permas were able to get all of the things most people were spamming Jeuno for help with, without any trouble and I'll always be greatful for that, if only Piro hadn't been Piro and messed that whole thing up... I just wish I had been there Murph. I'll miss you my fellow PLD, and Althena thanks for all the free teleports and Raises... lol
Shadowstalker - I don't think anyone on the server was more like me than SS. We pretty much thought the exact same way about almost everything it was funny because a lot of time in tells he or I would say something and the other would say "I was thinking the same thing... lol" Didn't hurt that he was easily one of the best RDM's on the server as well, plus he was a guitar player, awesomeness. Much love for the SS.
Reinheld - He may be blunt sometimes but by god at least he's honest, and I love honest people. Rein gets major props from me for being the best DRK I have ever seen, I remember always requesting him to end SA/TA Skill Chains due to the shear power he had behind them. Sometimes I'd read one of his posts and get mad, then I'd read it again and be glad he wrote it, and then read it again and laugh about it because I'm so glad he said what needed to be said in the way he said it. Love ya Rein, gonna miss the reaper.
Kurokaze - Kuro was the first Mysidian that I personally requested a poll to be put up for, for entrance into CKD. Kuro was not only a very skilled BLM and THF but was much better than that, Kuro had earned my trust and respect. We had done quests and BCs and ENMs together and entrusted each other with rather large amounts of gil and had known each other a relatively short time and that trust turned to friendship. Kuro became part of our little weekly ENM squad that I used to replenish my Dynamis experience loss... lol Kuro will be one of those that I miss the most because of how great a friend he proved to be.
Claudia - Claus is on of the later members of Mysidians and later CKD that I talked to a lot and was another member of our ENM squad. Just reading this list I can't believe how many friends I've made and I haven't even scratched the surface really. We always got to talking in LS chat and /t chat about different things, random stuff really, did a lot of quests, CoP and sky stuff and had fun doing WSNMs when we could. Its really hard to condense some of these friends into a simple paragraph when they mean so much but Claus was such a great person that I always looked to say hi to her when I logged in first thing. That will continue when I log in to say hello from now on.
Loranne - Sorry Lor, I ment to put you in in this position right here but blistery fingers will do that to a man. Mintsy and Lor were with Claus when members of Nephilim (I always loved that LS name) came over to Mysidians and then later joined CKD. Another great friend that I loved to do ENM's and BCNM's with and the occasional mission/quest with when the need arose. Mintsy beat me to the punch when she applied to the LS before I made the move to nominate you all for application... haha
Noodlebrain - The person responsible for my sig is also the first NA BRD I can remember from the days when we were trying to figure out why anyone would want one. Ended up being a good friend and despite the problems our two LS's had we did some fun things like Fenrir runs for friends at a time where no one would dare try Fenrir with a PLD tank. I remember sitting outside that stupid place for hours trying to figure out how to do that fight and then when we finally won everyone was so elated. Very fond memory of mine.

Ilmaterrori - Probably our best all around player and quite the philosopher as well, one of my idols.
Hccmike - If Ilma is the best of our players Hcc isn't far behind, keep up the great work man.
Ketrebu - Pours his heart and soul into the LS, I regret leaving and dropping all the burden onto you Ket, I hope you get full Koening soon, you deserve it more than anyone.
Jongkrut - Called me awesome once and my heart swooned.
Valisk - Keep that temper in check and you'll be much better than me.
Severus - I'll miss you but you can't tell anyone!
Kaylia - We share the hate of drama, fight the good fight for me.
Cyntari - Love ya Cyn, gonna miss having someone else with a southern accent on voicechat.
Angiepoo - I had fun perma grouping with you even for a short time, don't forget me.
Remey - Don't take things too hard on yourself man, you too good of a guy to get down on yourself.
Kayne - All-Time favorite MNK, I'm playing WoW so you know I'll be back eventually.
Volrath - Best assualt SMN ever, and the first person I met with the patience for crafting.
Mintsy - My favorite Taru female, stay safe and I was seriously worried as hell when I found out you and Lazy were in the zone where Katrina was about to hit. Be safe, I'll miss you.
Anyways, like the title says "Long-Winded" but I'll cut it off there, and I know I left out a ton of people but my fingers are blistered and bleeding and everyone that actually reads this is going to go blind.
I hope that I've made a good impression on most of those I've met here and made more friends than enemies and I hope that if anything I'm remembered as a good guy... and maybe a good PLD too... lol
