Who was the first person you made friends with and started to hang out with on a regular basis?

I started FFXI with Talisin so the both of use basically kept to ourselves for the first few months of the game. However, there were three people who always grouped together that we met and became friends with.

Omegadata

These three always grouped together much like Talisin and I did. So when we hit the dunes it was no suprise that our first party was something like

Yarr
Omegadata
Zoth
Nekote

I think we actually met and became friends with Zoth the most. This was before Advanced jobs. Zoth, Talisin and Omegadata were War. Nekote was THF and I was WHM.


Although the friendship didnt last too long. We never really ended up in the same linkshell. I had them all in CKD for a week or two before Nekote\Omegadata split off into a Non-HNMLS. They didnt want to be in the HNM scene. There was no drama, just preferance. Zoth quit (recently came back) and there was a slight rift between us over questionable actions.

So for my longest standing friend I guess it would have to be Mikey. I met Mikey back when he had been stranded on Limit Break 1. He had been killing Lich for weeks with out any drops. This was back when there was no one to kill Lich for you and Limit Break 1 was done in alliances. There were also tons of people trying to get the drop.

To bad mikey sucks ass.

I think the first person i met and still know today is Honeybunch. I met him in La Thiene when i was a thf and he was of course a rdm. As time went on he helped me with alot of stuff i even remember him soloing a mission for me. But my absolute best friend in this game is Alderan with Taragotan at a close seconds. Ive met alderan in friend back in the jungle at like level 25. From then on we were friends and still are today. As for Tara i met him when i was 40ish i cant remember exactly, i know he was in his mid 50s when i was in my 40s. He still remains a good friend but really emo.

First friend was Zeva who was an rl friend I started with. He quit around lvl 30 which was several months after starting (we started slow).

Longest friend...can't say just one. Athel and Conker are my 2 longest and best friends in the game. They don't like eachother anymore but I love them both and talk to them constantley while playing. I've been good friends with both for over a year...which is way longer than most of my current FFXI friends.

First friends I made were Seres and Julias. The latter has long quit the game and the former has been retired for a good while. His sister now plays the charecter 'Seres' while his mom level'd WHM up faster than me :\

Most of the friends I originally met quit, I didn't have many consistent relationships in my lowbie days since everyone I knew had quit until I joined my second linkshell.

My first and longest friend on this game was Dalek.

I was like level 14 and he was already a lvl 30 PLD when I met him in the dunes. He was leveling something else. He felt bad for me Because I was still in my lvl 1 starting gear and had like 500 gil to my name. So the next day he sent me some linen shit he got as drops and since then we have been friends through a lot of shit. Cheap bitch didnt buy me astrals though. DAMN YOU DALEK DAMN YOU!

i'd have to say Tyriel

i met Tyriel while /shouting in San d'Oria about making the walk to Jeuno for the first time. Tyriel was standing over by the South Sandy Auction house. The walk to Jeuno was exciting but we managed to make it without any confrontations. Me, Thunderstomp, Tyriel, Blace, and Gudrorvald. We were all level 20.

I sat and chatted with Tyriel while waiting for my chocobo license. We partied a lot after that. I got to see Tyriel become the first NA THF to hit 40. Our usual party lineup every night was Me, Thunderstomp, Tyriel, Shadowknight(PLD), Vexed(RDM), and Scyth. Then he had to go on a long vacation and never caught up again. He was still level 51 when I hit 75 a few months later.

He was a nice Vietnamese guy. He was very much like Shiloh in personality. I later gave him about a million in gear (2 astrals, light staff, etc etc) because he started up white mage and got to 50 again, and I was on one of my "I QUIT" escapades. But when I came back, he was gone and I never saw him again.

I might be able to find his email if I check the IGN Vault.

My first friends were Lirael and Kirana n.n
I was on my starting first job as a blm...and they invited me to my first party ever in Throngi Canyon. Needless to say we had lots of fun. After a while I was invited into the mysidians. Though I had to leave the game for months at times due to irl issues~ They were always there to help me. n.n~ To bad they quit the game now. ;.;

My longest friend...thats hard to say. I have so many close friends on FFXI ~
Lynndaryn is always there for me irl and ingame n.n ~
Aphelion is my lover pld forever~ and also his twin Perehelion n.n
Ambroise for being like the older brother to me~
and the list keeps going on and on...

Haha, my longest friend would have to be that douce Volrath. Meeting his noobie ass in dunes as a drk. What a sight. Started the whole Optical Hat trend I swear. Every time I see him, he'd be wearing that Fungus Hat. It's funny when you try to look back and you realize it's been over 2 years already. And what an awesome player he turned out, even though he's still an ass in many ways haha.

My oldest friend in the game was one I met on the way back from a party with my level 15 or so Monk. . . otherwise it was on the way back from camping Lizzy back in the dead. Anyways, she was there lying dead from a failed attempt at leveling BST, so I walked up, and started shouting for raise (I hate seeing people lying on their face dead ; ;!!!) after a few minutes, another JP player rolls by, and raises her. At the time I couldn't really speak any Japanese, but we talked through Auto-Translation, and ever since I met her, we've been hanging out and junk. She's trying to learn english, I'm trying to learn japanese; I respect her a ton!

She's one of the few Japanese players that actually doesn't like the whole JP Onry bullshit that goes on in the game. @@ Btw, her name is Neth. ^-^

Hm.. my first friend didn't play the game for long. His name was Tyme and he was just a jackass lol but I'd hang with him anyway. He only played for like a month or two.

Longest friend was Hitmanr. Met him as whm in dunes when I was a war . Another longest would be Blace(not sure if I met him or Hit first).. he saved me in La Thiene from a bunny while he was lvling SAM. I think maybe that's why I considered becoming a SAM 'cause his gi and gtk looked cool, 'cause at first I wanted to be PLD. Everyone else I first knew has quit or something =/

first people i ever talked to were azn leaks and vaelen. met them having a circle jerk in front of zeruhn mines and i was like wtf how did you sit down. they escorted me to dangruf wadi and i thought azn was a bad ass for being like lvl 6 or something haha

Wow. By far that crazy Taru WHM Bobaboba has been with me thru thick and then, from LS to LS, and beyond here it is 2 years later, and we are still playing when many others we've met along they way fell by the wayside. So big ass shout and /salute to Boba. Other long time friends include Yatalock and Nchynk and my favorite BRD Elysa, also Viscica (who took almost the entire 2 years to pick a job), and Vaelen who actually helped me unlock SAM.

Hm. I don't even remember my first friend's name. That's so sad. But the first people I do remember are Mythrandir and Nickg. Started a perma with them around lvl 26-27. Then they quit about lvl 53 and made me sad.

Long time friends are Viviti and Trinitty. I probably met them around the same time. Trin has always played and I still talk to her a lot. Viviti comes and goes. lol But I <3 him.


And um... Matti? I suppose he'll be around for awhile since I trapped him irl.

There was this douche RDM i PT'd with in the dunes. we talked all the time, then all the sudden he disappeared and reappeared as like a lv60. thats ok though i still beat his ass to 75 i think hoho

but seriously SS kept PTs sane in valkrum. only other person id say i knew longer was Nuku. i know him irl and started playing on Ifrit because he was here.

My friends who i'd say i met first and knew the longest would be Renzokuken and Andrew. They both are rl friends and got me into the mess that is FFXI today. If it wasn't for them...I might still be sitting in Windurst not knowing i had a staff or stone in my inventory. Thanks guys haha

i started with Arim, so naturaly we are friends.
but~

(at this time, i was playing on my first character Nuf, and i was a blm.)

one day in lathine i joined a pt with a job i have never seen before. brd. i was amazed by the job and all i stood for. i sat there through the whole party just watching her and observing. haha thats the point that i decided i wanted to go bard.

that bards name was Blosm, whom i still talk to alot to this day.

First friend was my irl Friend his in game name was Drakedge but soon after starting with my friend I meet zeero whom I talked to on and off he gave me my first lp though I put it on about once then tossed it lol and then one person I did stay friends with and close friends at that was my friend Rokusho , Rokusho and Drakedge quit zeero’s still around but the two closes friends I have to this day are from my second ls witch I am still in Rarab and Kametatsu.

There are others whom helped me a lot but I don’t feel like getting all sentimental and what not so we can leave them out and they know who they are so no need to name them.

My first friend i guess was skylar. I was very much a loner. I didn't even really know how to talk on ls really until like lvl 30. I think my first friend that i still talk to would be hccmike. After i hit lvl 40 i met this tall annoying as hell ( but loveable) elvann. My party needed a whm, i being a blm at the time absolutely sucked as a main healer, we needed him. He was being a complete dick lol saying how he's just here because he's a few k behind his perma. He made sure to say a couple of times his perma was better than us.

Yea... while he was saying this i was sending tells to the pt leader and asking the pt leader why were we putting up with him and for the love get rid of him. He replied he's a whm, we need him more than you. He left afterwards stating he was better than us and his perma was waiting for him. Him and his brother ended up being my closest friends.
