Seriously you guys, stop trying to act as if you can strip away some kind of "shame" from people who go to conventions.

We go to high priced hotels dressed as cartoons and spend hundreds of dollars on this 'hobby'.

Shame =/= Otaku

I had no drive to do such a thing, for shame is that of an internal emotion.

I started to watch... Is it really an hour fucking long?

And btw.... you know you're real nerdy when your mom drives you to the con.

Further note.. The Sad thign is... Vivi and the girl as orchimaru are prolly the coolest people in the car =\

Whoops WoW raid time so I can't watch the next 54 mintues... but I will say... I thought I was a dork, but the whole dancing thing is totally on a whole nother level.

Haha, its not my mom. It's our friends mom, whos actually convention staff.

And yeah, if all it took was ParaPara dancing to make me sink to a new level, the next 54 minutes is overkill anyway, haha.

EDIT: I just watched the dancing part again, if you listen, right before the dancing part, my friend Dave (Narutard) holds up a shirt that says "George Bush dosnt care about Black Mages" You can hear me in the backround saying "George Bush Dosnt Invite Dragoons" then my friend Kris (Cutiethief on Ifrit) exclaims "NOBODY INVITES DRAGOONS!!!"

So yeah, there is proof that really is me, lol.

See I'm not imopressed by the dorkdom of Dancing... I mean I DDR and all that sort ofn thing. I'm impressed because its apparently a popular dork thing and yet I've never heard of it.

For exampel on your myotaku page you have "WRRRYYYY" etc in big letters. I know about as well as anybody what the deal with that is. Parapara dances on the otherhand. See. no clue.

ParaPara is only big in some nerd circles, mine just happens to be very big into euro techno, japanese music games, etc etc.

But yeah, I wouldn't blame you if you've never heard of it.

And of course, the MyOtaku intro thing is a combination of Dio Brandos special moves from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure~

Para Para is a game similar to DDR, but rather than stepping on 4 arrows with your feet, you activate 8 motion sensors surrounding you with your whole body.

There are dances to learn and memorize that guarantee a perfect score if performed correctly, these dances get learned and memorized by people, who can then perform the dance without the use of arrows, or game entirely, only music.

Thats what you see going on in the first 4 minutes or w/e of the video, haha, we all knew the dance for the song Velfarre and we were performing the "perfect score" dance. Thats about as much as I can dumb it down to explain.

It's incredibly old even in states.

Holy fuck I know all about it haha. That said I was into PIU for a long time. PPP is rare down here though. Only one in the states a few years ago. Doubt there's more than that now.

That said, as far as I remember the PPP craze had died a long time ago even in dork circles.

Yeah, for the most part, its dead within most circles, however it still gets a good laugh at conventions because its something alot of people can recognize as "hey, I remember that". Sorta like Pokemon.

You know, I just watched the video again, and theres a few parts of the video I'm waiting to get comments on, hahaha. I'm wondering if nobody has watched it the whole way yet, or if you're all too scared to bring those moments up :o

I watched a good 20 minutes of it, but eventually the shoddy camera work made me dizzy, and I stopped watching.

I will say there is something especially nerdy about dressing up as guy-sensei or other naruto characters and then playing a Naruto fighting game. speakign of said game the roudns seemed to last a particularly long time but maybe I'm just too used to the 1 round styles of MvC2 or the quick matches of SC2.

Yup, thats me with the blue wig when I was dressed as lazy 2D.

Gai Sensei was my good friend Levi, and the rounds do last a long time in Naruto 3 because it was Levi versus my other friend Mark, and they're both exceedingly good at the game, so their matches always take forever.
