I get a letter today from my school, Georgia State University. It says they have taken away my scholarship. I had it, it paid for my summer and fall, but they have decided to take it away. Their reasoning is that they can't read a date on some tax form that they've had for 6 months.

So... I now owe $2178. I can fix that situation with time. But the worst thing is they waited until the night before my Spring registration to notify me. That is, I register tomorrow at 9am, but now I can't, because they blocked my registration due to being "critically late" on payment. These are classes I must get, but they will fill up tomorrow. I just got assraped by my school, and it didn't feel too good.

Of course I will be up before sunrise tomorrow, doing anything I can to fix this b.s. It's just so typical of my school.

yes every semester my school did something like this to me.
i'd always have to wake up early and go stand in a line for 3 hours. and usually ended up oweing money, but they could never tell me why exactly. and they would never tell me that i owed it until the semester was almost over, so i would have to pay late fees too.

school in austria is so nice. i dont have to do or worry about anything at all really haha. i feel like i'm in the mafia or something. no rules apply or effect me. its great.

i spent all the day from sunrise to sunset working on this situation. going back and forth between the financial aid office, counselors, provost's office, my professors, my biology dept, the dept of revenue. it's just entirely out of my control. supposedly i will find out tomorrow if i have to pay $4300 over the course of the year or not. LOVELY

this is definitely a low point for me. but i haven't panicked or acted rashly, just kept my cool. i guess it's a lot easier to keep your cool when you can vent the frustration in some way, like this forum.

It doesn't seem fair to me that they'd do that. I'd have just said "fuck you" because it's their fault they couldn't read the date on the tax form.
