I was there the first day that it was opened. You could see the top part of it blowing back and forth in the wind, which isn't uncommon for roller coasters there since it's right on the lake.

I watched it shoot the people up (you go from like 0-100+ in 4 seconds taking off) and they made it to the top but not over the hump, and they fell down backwards. Then they closed the ride for abour 4-5 hours to try to work out the kinks.

Needless to say, I didn't get on it.

Best Thrill Park in the world, I think that brings them to 14? total roller coasters. I haven't been there since they added the two newer ones, but last time I was there I did all 12 of the roller coasters and it took all day long. The place is an andreline junky's paradise. Some of the Rollercoasters they have there are insane.

Yeah. It has a hydraulic assist to get over the hill and they said they had some issues with the pressure when it was first opened. lol

I would go on it in a second.

Then again I was suppose to go sky diving but it was cancelled due to weather. I still have tickets to go anytime I wanna make the drive out (3 hour drive to get there and I dont have the time to take off work, so I have to wait until next summer).

Good news is that im trained to sky dive ;p

FLARE FLARE OMG

Coming from a guy who works on Hydraulics....if it isn't maintained to perfection, it can quit at any time, without warning...I am sure the have inspections and checklists, but they are prolly check by some 17 yr old punk who is late for a date on the internet. Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to pass.

My uncle's step son use to be a rollercoaster inspector there and they had to go over every piece of the rollercoaster everymorning to make sure it was all up to standards. Plus I remember seeing something on the discovery channel about Cedar Point, and its amazing how much close attention they pay to their coasters there.

It's not very far at all. It's right on Lake Erie. Very, very, very top of Ohio. Across the lake is Cana-DUH.

Kingda Ka?

That one wins actually.

Kingda Ka breaks all world records for roller coaster speed and height, becoming the tallest and fastest roller coaster on Earth. This jaw-dropping thrill ride launches riders from 0 to 128 mph in 3.5 seconds before catapulting them 456 feet (45 stories) into the sky!

I love how they say 'Kingda Ka is a highly sophisticated ride and may experience short periods of downtime.' aka "Our shit might not be working correctly, and we periodically close it down so that we don't get sued for killing your stupid asses while riding in our death-machine.'

I think it has more to do with the fact that it's 465 feet tall and strong wind can cause problems. BUT that's just a guess so I dunno...
