/recast "Spell here" tells you when your spell is ready to be casted again. It also works for job abilities.

you can make a macro that has /echo in it then /recast "whatever" so that it doesn't appear in your party chat log.
I use that to see all job abilities like jumps, berserk, etc.

recast doesnt show up in any log but your own. echo is for things like
/provoke <t>
/wait 30
/echo provoke ready

question is that /wait # seem to have a limit up to 30 sec not more and most /Ja have 2 to 10 mins long so ovke is one thing it will work on /echo but will /recast lets me know when its ready so I can use it on the dot?

better to have 4 diff macros with recast + spell and just recast, unless you use FFXIrecast/ffassist/menus.
