ok im just aiming to max out my damage as much as possible. I know that Str is mainly for ws booster (is drk/thf) but i was wondering which should i use. Enkelados Bracelets which have STR+7 but dex -4 or Terasque Mitts+1 which have +12 attack.

Id like to here everyones opinions on this and some hard core testing info if possible. I've heard from some people i should use one and from others i should use the other. i would like to finally know what i should use to maximize my damage output.

Also would anyone enlighten me on how much each higher level drk ws is based on str and int would be very helpful (ground strike, spinning slash, and spiral hell)

Str is how high the ceiling is

Attack is how high you jump.


so to gain max damage you have to balance it all, but im not a melee DD to know so yea.

i do know the majority of the mechanics, but couldnt find a harcore faq sheet of them. i was mostly asking for others opinions. i am not that much of a tard

Str vs atk is more complicate than that :) There is no perfect gear setup since it change for every mob, food or pt setup (rng debuff, brd, dia...etc).

Since you don't know the monster def, the only way to know which one benefit the most is to use a parser and look at your average damage per hit with both. I know for exemple on weapons in the Shrine, my dmg was increased by about 0.5dmg per str points. I don't know exactly how much dmg +atk would have done in that case, but I'm pretty sure it wouldnt be anywhere close to that.


General rule I was using while xping

- Keep acc above 80% at any cost. After that, benefit from acc bonus starts decreasing. If you're spamming guillotine or any other multi hit ws, dont take off str/atk gear unless you can land every hit almost all the time

-Before 75, you probably want as much attack as you can on xp mobs (or anything above T). Unless you have a brd and someone is decreasing the monster's def, chance is benefit from atk is a lot better than str.

-After 75 in merit party, if you are dual wielding, str is almost always better. I'm not sure however for 2hand weapon since atkinfluence the average dmg between the "min" and "max". Since the range is wider, you might benefit more from atk but it's probably not always the case


You should download the parser from that link and do the test yourself. It's the only way to find which gear is better in a particular situation.

depends actually on your race and total +str and total attack what you should do.

i wouldnt worry an ass load about adding a shit load of att gear. focus on adding str really. food adds att and helps balance so thats another factor. few att pieces are good, then use str gear for the rest, like alky bracelets and shit. especially against higher lv stuff... a deco weap pt you can get away with no str and a bigillion attack because theyre low VT and have lower VIT. but aura statues and HNM you want str to counter the mobs high vit. youll already have high attack anyways so its not hard to balance unless youre a taru.

taru you need to pile on (and i mean pile) str. but what i see on my ninja is the more str i add the more dmg i do on higher tier mobs. anything tough and lower i can lay off str and use att gear. but once i need to pit my base 58 str on VT+ i end up having to take off the attack shit and use whatever str i can get. youll want 20-30 acc, use attack food, and use str gear (if youre using heca then macro only omg)

It's not as easy Xio . Slow weapon with high damage doesnt react the same to atk/str increase. Also, you are talking about party with brd, when it's not always the case :)

na im talking about being a taru ninja haha. other races need to do diff shit than i do. i mean ilms nin has like 70 base str and mine has 58. leaves a diff balancing i gotta do haha
