anyone who has been playing FFXI more than 2 years, i have 2 questions. why do you still play? and do you think you are addicted?

kill time, i need to quit but i havent hit 75 yet even after my 2years... let alone 65

i play because i've made some really unique friends.. people i've would have never met if i never played this game. I'm not addicted at all to the game. But i honestly do have fun being around some of my friends here.

I still enjoy the game. Also there are challenges I have not beaten yet. I dunno about addicted, but I do talk about it a lot with Galindar.

Mostly because I met Mel on FF. but I also have alot of friends I want to keep in touch with. and its just plan fun. I treat more like a interactive chat room then a MMORPG. And I guess you could say i'm addicted.

I keep playing because I seriously have nothing else to do. I love my friends here and what weird things I can do out of boredom. I may be addicted, I dont know, I may be on 24/7 when not sleeping and not at school, but that's because bakersfield is B-O-R-I-N-G, like if I could find something to do, I would easily be able to walk away unless doing something at the very moment.

at one point in time in my life i was very addicted to ffxi. but after i moved to NC i started putting my life into perspective. ffxi made me say, i can always do "insert responsibility here" tomorrow/next week. to be honest it wasnt just ffxi, ffxi just took the place of me hanging out til 6am with friends or playing a single person video game for 12 hours straight.

i still play because i do have fun when i actually do play, and there is more stuff id like to do before id ever even think about stopping. i have more pressing things im going to be doing irl so ffxi is in the back seat for now. start school on the 18th, and have a girl im seeing after like 2 years of not dating at all. i dont think about ffxi the way i used to, and i mean "hmmm i get off work at 5 so ill be able to go home and login by 6" or "i only need 4 hours sleep for tomorrow".

at one point in my life, yes i was addicted to ffxi very badly (thanks nuku lol). BUT i would never take those years back if i could. ffxi in a way got me to hit a rock bottom and move to NC then start realizing things about myself that i needed to start changing now and not tomorrow. good questions whisp haha

Now that I don't have to do the leveling grind anymore I can play more reasonable hours. When I got FFXI, I was in high school, and not having much to do social wise the game was a welcome replacement, haha. Since I've been in college I've made it a huge priority to not blow off the new relationships I've formed, however, I can never feel right with myself if I up and let the community. That and the fact that FFXI has probably weened me off video gaming in general. I've spent alot less (both time and money) than I normally would've on video games by just playing FFXI as opposed to games that have come out in the last two years.

I still enjoy the game and friends i've made on it. Its something fun to do when i get home at night from work, when there isn't much else to do. It also helps save money, 15 bucks another compaired to 40+ a night at a club lol.

I'm still having fun in the game. New experiences are the best part. Seeing new zones and doing new things has always been a big part of the fun for me and what keeps it fresh. Friendships have always been a big part of the game for me too and so enjoying my friends throughout the game and especially in JoiningOfSix Linkshell is also keeps me playing.

I'm not addicted...I work full time so the game is merely a way to entertain myself evenings and weekends. I could definitely stop at any moment and never go back.

I think i still play because I have an odd obsession with understanding, and every job i play I seem to like... so I want to experience them all first-hand kinda. Not even close to seeing it from all sides after 2yrs. My 4th Job otw to 75 now, and at least 3-4 more I want to experience 60+ someday.

Though looking back, I think i could find more contructive ways to occupy that time... i cringe whenever i check the total playtime. I think i'm semi-addicted, in that while playing its hard to stop (probably becuase u play with others, each activity has a span thats hard to cut short)... but when i put it down, its easy to stay away... kinda.

Yea, Rune Axe. Rune Sword looks cool also. You hit for like 10dmg cuz BLM has no skill in them.. but its cool to run around jeuno in. The RUne GA was around 30k last i checked.
