My actual experiences with SE are very good actually. You have to remember a few points

If you talk to the people on their automated phone number or speak to a GM on game you are not speaking to anyone from Square-Enix, Inc. They are actually hired by Sony Online Entertainment.

Secondly anyone who takes time to fill out that trash is only really pissed off about the service they got. No one ever writes in when they are happy.

Good point.

doesnt matter though, if people are writing about how pist they are and there is enough of them its an automatic black mark. a few people bitch about nothing, but when a large % of the customers bitch then chances are its not people just crying to cry.

if i sell shoes and a few people complain that i dont give them the left shoe, its debatable as a mistake. if a large % of my client base says i dont give them the left shoe then obviously something is wrong. it should be infered all the time that the happy customers dont need to say theyre happy, because theyre not adding themself to the % of unhappy people.

doesnt matter if SE sucks though, just like everything in life if theres nothing better you complain but still take the next best thing. while i may hate Diet soda, if im having a caffine headache your damn right ill drink a big ol glass of Dt coke bitching about the nasty taste after every gulp.

too bad it's just an arbitrary letter, meaning absolutely nothing until people assign significance to it :p

personally, i don't care what the BBB says about Square, besides, you have to realize SE is more than just Final Fantasy XI, they've made some really lousy titles before, after all (and bad movies too, anyone remember Spirit's Within? :P)... so some of that F rating is bound to be from that as well

and yeah, Severus made a really good point, i'm a lot more inclined to file a complaint against whatever company before i file a compliment with them, as is most of us

Yeah, Spirits Within was a good movie on its own... but if you try and compare it to anything that is or should be Final Fantasy it seems a bit off. I think that's where most people's criticism comes from.

I pointed out this on another post about this. If you look up Blizzard, and SE, and compare what types of company they are listed as, its compleatly diffrent.

Blizzards says something like "A company that makes video game entertainment"

SE says something like "Provides help with video game"

That having said; if a person calls up and says "Blizzards tech help sucked!" they only get -1 point, becuse they are not a tech help line.

If SE would get the same call, it would be -5, becuse, thats what they are thought of as thier main focus.

It's true, but how can you expect a game feeling from a 1h30 movie when a game last 50 hours? ;p The feeling can't be the same.

My feelings come from the writers. Dialogue was 'bleh.'

Because God knows other FF game never had weird line or awkward dialogue ;p.


It's possible the scenario lost a bit of his touch in the translation too. People here are used to movie that were made in English and rarely get a translation.

Even if there were some moments of awkwardness or whatever in FF games, like "WE ALL GREW UP TOGETHER AND THE GFs MADE US FORGET LOL" (dumbest plot point, ever by the way,) there were memorable points of dialogue/plot points in the good games. I can't really remember anything "memorable" from Spirits Within, to be honest.

Which one was that?

It was FFVIII, probably my least favorite. lol

I didn't beat x-2 though, I was busy leveling grinding ; ;

Go beat X-2, I'm working on going through again getting 100% and all jobs maxed haha
