I did a speech about this for my speech class. lol. Well mine was about anti-gay crimes are hate crimes but close enough. They're arguing about how gay is genetic, and then there's the choice of being gay.

There are 1000's of ex-gays that have testified of being fromerly homosexual, so does that make it genetic and that one person has no choice about being gay? I don't think so. I think it's all cultural thing, like being raise with more girls in the house or without a father could do that.

Anyways, I think that it's hard to gauge if it's a choice or not, considering the people who really have a problem with it aren't gay themselves. However, another study kind like the one Yarr posted supports that gay men are "wired" differently in the head, supporting the genetic theory.

There is nothing more biological than sexual attraction. Unless it's the result of some traumatism and the like, I'm convinced being gay is genetic/biologics.

I'm not really sure many gay want people to to think it's a choice, when it doesn't really matter.

based on gay friends ive talked to i really dont think its a choice who you are attracted to its more likely just a choice as to whether you allow yourself to act on that attraction. My boss at work is now openly gay after years of marriage and he has kids. I personally believe he finally just came to terms with his homosexualality i dont think he just woke up and decided id like to try being gay for awhile

I dunno if it's all genetics... like sometimes i get scared that I might be bi or gay because I've been attracted to males before; Not in a hump their leg, fantasize about macking with them kinda way, but definitely like a curiosity this mostly happens with really "pretty" guys tho: johnny depp, John Cameron Mitchell, Vincent Gallo, etc like universally hot. I always think all of Madi's pics on ffxiplayers are cute lol But I guess sexually my attraction is towards women and I can't deny that... or maybe it truly is both and I've just repressed my male attraction, but yah.. if our sexual orientation all relates back to genetics.. then how do you explain bi-sexuality?

I think that gay pride parades and the like have honestly ruined most chances of gay people gaining any respect from people who are conservative and religious. The way to gain respect (and rights, for that matter) isn't parading arounding the streets in a pink g-string. That's the image that the gay movement puts forth. If gay people are going to want rights, replace the gstring with suits and go press legislation for gay rights in your state.

No kidding. I don't mind gay people at all, but those 2 things are just too much for me. Next thing we will see is "women olympic" and "black people olympic".
