lol yarr well I can hold in range of 2mins to almost 3mins of holding my breath of air in water cuzz I am still cert diver that I still do when I go with a friend of my in water for fun and lobster catching for BBQing WOOT.

He also was breathing pure oxygen... which isn't allowed when trying to break that record. He wouldn't have been recognized even if he had done it.

he had oxygen when he lived in the fishbowl for 7 days
when he was trying to break the 9min record on the 7th day, he had no air- plus he had to escape 8 handcuffs while holding his breath

had he not been spending all that energy escaping the cuffs, i bet he coulda done it, or at least gotten closer to his goal :p

either way, he's an idiot, risking death (or severe nerve damage, among many other things) to set a record that's ultimately meaningless :p

Well wasn't he in the fishbowl when he tried to break the record? I think the point that I read was that the oxygen he DID breath before trying to breaking the record had a higher oxygen content then the air any other person would breath to break the record. You're not allowed to use condensed oxygen from air tanks or anything like that.

I didn't actually watch it, but that's just what I heard
