In a few short weeks, Superman Returns will hit theaters across the country, and in typical way overhyped manner, tickets are on sale now. Sure, Superman may be the most recognized superhero of all time, but will his newest movie be a hit? His comics don't sell, despite his statues of being the most famous hero, and the general conscenus is that he's a boring character. The actor playing Supes is an interesting casting choice, but he seems to capture the essence of Clark Kent easily enough. How will he take on Superman? The only actor that has played Superman that has been able to capture both the man of flesh and the man of steel was Christopher Reeves. All the others failed in some respect with either Clark or Supes.

One thing that bugs me about Superman Returns is that it isn't a fresh start. Superman and Superman 2 with Reeves are taken in the movie as actually happening. Personally, I would have preferred the Batman approach and omitting any continuity with other films, but hey, at least Richard Pryor won't rise from the grave to appear in Superman Returns.

So, are you excited for Superman Returns? Or not? Or you don't care? Haha.

I'll probably see it because I enjoy big budget summer blockbusters, but Superman is a really lame character for modern times. He's still wearing his tights and booties. Really lame.

They should have made Superman emo to get the younger crowd to go watch it.

Im looking forward to it because Brian Singer is attached too it. From what I have see it looks good, but I stopped watching previews after the second trailer was released. I dont want to give much away.

Sunshine and I have already re watched Superman and Superman II.

I do wish they had done a "Batman Begins" approch, but atleast superman and Superman II were good movies that are respected by most comic lovers. That cant be said to Tim Burtons Batman.

There's nothing awfully special about Brian Singer. He's quite good at coordinating this truck flying into that building, but otherwise I don't really see why he's special. Besides the lousy script X3 was just as good as his ones (unless he wrote X2 and Xmen Image)

Actually David Hayter (the voice of Solid Snake in Metal Gear) wrote X-Men 1 and 2. Haha. I always thought that was fucking cool.

Solid Snake is a triple threat!!

Watch your fucking back Linsey Lohan. Solid Snake can write a movie that will bury your best attempts at box office success. Failing that, he'll just slit your throat.

Directors can change this, add that, take away those and so on. They might not beable to write the script but they can change lines and so on. They have the power to make a character look stupid or make them true to their comic counterpart.

Still, he just doesn't seem like anyting special. Just one of the plain vanilla action movie directors that are dime a dozen. Dunno.

Brian Singer directed some great movies like The Usual Suspects and Apt Pupil. Brett Ratner is most famous for directing the Rush Hour series and some music videos. I'd say Brian Singer is the better director, just based on the fact that he didn't try to squeeze himself into a Wolverine costume for his Christmas cards like Brett Ratner.

Well. Just saw Superman Returns and it was really fucking amazing. I don't see how Singer will ever get out of making comic movies when the ones he does are so good.
