Well...

I"m not really the type of guy to do these things. But its been 5 years now. Being from ny and living so close by ( 30 min away)

Without going into details, i can honestly say that day did affect my life. It changed a couple of things, and a person i knew died that day.

In any case it did change history. Many mistakes were made, and continue.

No one group or peoples or countries deserve the fear that people live with now.

Hell even traveling become a pain. Thanks to Islamic extremists we cant even take freaken lotions inside a freaken plane Or even water for that matter!.

I have a pretty good view of Manhattan from my roof. I decided it would be a good idea to show you guys the WC memorial lights.

The only connection I have is that my dad is a firefighter and is involved in union business on the national level so he was hit fairly badly with it. I think it's awful but again I don't know anyone who died or was injured so I'm not like, overwhelmed. I do really resent the fact that the government has used this tragedy to cash in some instant political capital and royally screw our nation over. That's the biggest tragedy that's on my mind today.

my dad was in the world trade center the friday before (4 days before)

5 years ago i didn't find out about it until about 1pm, because no one at work cared about me at all. i did get to tell 1 person, a deaf girl. i drew a picture. after i got home, watching the news, i got really sick, so sick that i missed the next week of work, at one point tying my record of 30 hours of uninterrupted sleep, thats how sick i got. lost my job due to loss of clients. everyone's view of the world is altered since that day. fundamentalism sucks.

i really dont have any connection to this event at alll.

all i remember is watching cartoonnetwork before school while eating a bowl of fruit loops when my dad comes running in the door at full speed (he came all the way home from work) and i was like "dad why are you home? you just left like 30 minutes ago) and he changes the channel and says "this" and i (like alot of otehr people thought it was fake) so i said "you came home to watch a movie?" and the rest of the day is a blurr to me.

controversial arguement comin up:

I personally think terrorists do BAD things and are generally BAD people. I know we've got alot of terrorhuggers out there who think that terrorists are just your average blue collar religious extremists, but honestly I believe from the bottom of my heart they are BAD.

Maybe misguilded would be a better way of saying it.

Even do evil intentions thinking they're doing gods will.

Regardless some of these people had children. And family. Its on they're family heads what they did.

They were willing to kill innocent people in the name of god. Many many things have been done using that excuse. In they're eyes. They didnt do anything evil

i remember when this happened, it was about 2pm for me and we heard about it in school. everyone just stopped working and was glued to the few tv sets we had.

I don't know what is worse, the terrible loss of life or the fact that those responsible have acheived nothing by it except invite their own destruction, they were truly misguided and evil.

My dad called me at home and told me to turn on the TV. Sure enough there was the first building on fire.

I was scared when it was all happening. I remember thinking "This is not going to be an easy situation to resolve with out the US needing to nuke someone"

I was driving to work and I heard about the first tower on the radio. When I went in to work they had it on TV and we saw the second. I have no real connection other than I went to the top of one of the towers 7 years ago while on vacation. I was initially in disbelief that something that fucking huge could be gone.

I was eating breakfast before school when I was in 10th grade. I was like "wtf is this building doing on fire, this seems dumb." Then the second plane hit, and i was like "oh..."

I went to school for about 1 hour then my friends and I left to go do other stuff. Went to uptown and played around, went shopping, ate food. that's not really a day that school can justify keeping you there.

I was on my way to school listening to the radio. There was brief mention of a small plane crashing into one of the towers, and no one seemed to make a big deal of it. So I went to class (oddly enough it was a class on the American Dream, hah) and half way into it, the secretary from the honors college came running into the room (the professor was chairman of the department) and they walked out of the room for a minute. He came back in, and told us what happened and continued the class.

The class ended, and I went to my next class not really sure what was going on. No one was there, except for this one tall bearded kid, listening to music. So, I start talking to him, and tell him what happened. There's a general panic on the campus, even though we're really far from the events. Way further than Mikey. But since it's still New York, there's that sense of cultural shock that stings a bit deeper than it just being an American tragedy. It hurts a bit more when your city is attacked and the site of something so terrible.

That dude I met that day and I became friends after that too.

I was in 7th grade, i remember the girl who had the locker next to me told me about it. Then after school all sports but football were cancelled. So when I went to practice he gave us a speech about how we wont let the terrorists interrupt our lives since thats what they want. So we practiced that day.

I remember I was in 7th grade and everyone was watching the news when it was happening. I was just reading a book that we were reading in English. In hindsight, I wish I would have paid a little more attention now lol.

You realize how difficult it is to take a shot with so many contrasting lights around? I'll take a clearer picture when its daylight. My camera has alot of functions but its extremely difficult to get a good night shot.

tripod dude, or set it on a ledge, yeah its like almost impossible to get a picture like that w/o the light getting all messed up, cause for night pictures the lense usualy stay open a little longer, and if you move even the slightest bit, you get that.
