With tax and shipping this runs about $1100. Keep in mind I don't build computers, but I have a general idea what each individual component does. My main uses are internet, some video editing, and some gaming (I think Oblivion is the most graphic intensive game I plan on playing anytime soon).

I'm looking for advice on if these components would run well together or if there are any mis-matches. thanks!

couple of questions:

the case says it comes w/ a 420W psu, but you have purchased a 550W?
also, are you planning on doing any upgrading in the future? that x800gt is a fairly old card, and Oblivion barely runs smooth on my x800gto, so it could potentially bottleneck your system. might wanna spend an extra $100 bucks on a better card

just incase sound is a big concern for you, might want to get a seperate sound card since onboard is usually pretty crappy.

the case comes with a standard 420W PSU, but I wanted the upgraded 500W.

thx for the info on the video card, I'm not very up to date on what's good and what's not. I'l check into that.

and I've never had a problem with on-board sound, it's always been fine for me.

hmm just thinking, I don't really want to go above $1100, so maybe going for a 4200+ Athlon and spending more money on the video card might be the way to go?

Yes, that would be one of the solutions.
