first ls i was ever in was ganamenas old ls friend. i remember i met dionil in there because i LD'd during eco warrior in gusgen and when i came back everyone was gone. dio came back and saved me haha. after friend i joined mysticdragonclan and was in there till lvl 51 when azn gave me a pearl to CKD. ive had my pearl broken 17 times since then and still counting.

i remember my first LS. it was Friend, and was given to me by old MNK named Hextor who quit later. i held onto friend until like a year after it died and i needed room so i dropped it.

couple weeks after i joined Friend, Ghostxxx gave me a new pearl started by twotal and dtec and ghostxx called SoldierofDarkness

after a few months of that ls we merged into SRCofDarkness with capzero and just about every other great player to ever play ffxi, Imanimd, Jongkrut, Vendette, Hebron, Grimfandango, kioko, antihiess, Ketrebu, Cyntari, twotal, Azreall, Dtec, Hung, ridere the list was at least over 50 ppl i cant remember all of them anymore

Then some of the members got into a fight with capzero cause he wanted our ls to do everything together but some started Dyna with ckd and others which he didnt like. that fight tore us in the heart. some went to CKD, some to Hokuten, TTK. ultimately, the ls split into Mordana with capzero and LastFantasy with Azreall, i was a member of both. Mordana basically died 5 days after capzero left, the rest just went to CKD and that was the end. LastFantasy kept reforming and ultimately became a low end HNM ls. after they became HNM i got kicked out during a reform cause i joined Zeroeffect, and as far as my sources tell me Lastfantasy died

now im in the Zeroeffect chain ZE -> PD etc and thats my ls history basically

add about 68 other ls's in there and that completes it just about

I should read this thread but I'd probably feel the need to make a useful response. lol Certain actions by certain people have had strange and very unexpected consequences for the server, and you might only know it by being a history buff with an eagle eye and a 2 sided and mostly objective view of a timeline. >.> How one little thing can cause an eruption is pretty amazing. It's fun to look back and see how things took shape.

when I was 56 I went for a walk to have a look at Shadow Lord without a party, I heard the music was good so I went to have a listen. When I got there I ran into a pt who was about to go in and they made a space for me. The tank was Shiloh who seemed pissed and in a rush. He was fighting shadow lord before my cutscene ended. He was doing windurst missions with a mithra with a K name in the pt. A member of that pt gave me an ls LastFantasy which ended up being a social/baby hnm ls, and I didn't want any hnm ls, or any ls really so I left after 2 weeks. Azreall was pretty nice and I think I remember Bigdawg from there. That was late '04. Lungcancer told me I should try to get into ckd and hokuten at 60. lol He said "tell pirotess you hate yarr and you want to know how to join hokuten and tell yarr you hate pirotess and want to know how to join ckd."

Basically I've always played solo. In my 60s as blm I static pt'd with onimusha's ninja and damyu's whm while they were in TheMonarchy. Around level 70 we had a falling out and they tried to mpk me at castle zvahl. I am a prick and onimusha is a prick so it's understandble. Anyway I partied by seeking after that and at level 72 I had a pt at Ro'Maeve with Skibear, both of us on blm. PT was blm, blm, rdm, nin, thf, and something else. A few months after I got 75 Skibear contacted me and said "do you want to help my ls?" and I asked if he meant this weird yellow ls he wore and he said "no, valour" at which point I shook my fist angrily at god and took a pearl. I left after a couple hours because there was this really retarded blm complaining about how he wanted a dragon talon for a weskit and some other schmoe going on about how he should be up on osode list when he didn't even have sky. Meanwhile this was kinda late at night so Zelphes wasn't on. I think ulgokiem and bigdawg gave me the "who the fuck is this?" greeting. I knew imaulle from my short time in lastfantasy and talked to him a bit on /tell that first time in Valour and told him I was gonna toss it, he said he'd eventually get me to stay. It was a very entertaining convo. lol The general opinion of me at that point was I was a soloer and a crafter and I probably wouldn't want to do endgame. This was true. lol

Month later skibear convinced me to take a pearl again, he asked me to join originally because he thought I was a good stunner and I joined that time out of boredom. Killed my first fafnir the next day and became a full member around a week or 10 days later. Remained from late August '05 to mid September '06.

i remember my first LS when i started playing.. actually.. i created it and ran it.. but it was more for lowbie newbs like myself.. it was called "The Gooch".. lol such a silly name.. i would switch out between that another LS called "The Knights who Say Ni" and Another LS my JP friend gave me.. they were all lvl 70 at the time (back when the cap was 70).. i learned alot from them.

my ls started getting big after a while.. but around april of 04 i had to deploy out to the middle east, leaving my LS.. so that broke.. and when i came back azreall had started LastFantasy.. that LS was fun and had alot of good people in it.. then that broke..

i told myself that i wouldnt go back to another HNM.. or level at all because i knew when i got to a certain point, the game would get boring again so i stopped and helped people.. then Piro came back.. yadda yadda.. and all that shit.. deitre gave me a pearl to the new hokuten.. i became a sackholder after a while.. Piro and i got into an argument and he went crazy... (again).. and i broke the pearl and formed my other LS.. Virtue..

blah blah, that LS fell apart after a while.. and i merged with SPQR.. after a while mirza and i got into it.. and so i left, then quit shortly after.. ok, sorry i had to type that long boring thing..

Even though this was necro posted, I'm gonna reply, since I didn't before.

My first LS was ZodiacBrave. I was a WAR13, and in a party with Rein, and a few others from the LS. We went out to kill crabs, and Rein led the party, since he knew the way and was MNK17. haha.

I think that LS kinda broke up, due to many people leaving for one of the new servers they opened up shortly after launch. I then went through a few different LSs formed by the same group of people, which Cyntari was also a member. This lasted up until around level 50, where those friends all quit to do WoW beta, and Cyntari and I were left without any old friends.

I somehow ended up in Hokuten, though I don't recall how. I then helped get Cyntari into it. There's where I met the bulk of what would be the CKD group. I stuck around in Hokuten from 50-60, or so, but then went on haitus for about 2-3 months, when school got pretty busy.

When I came back, I got invited into SRCofDarkness from Cyntari and a CKD pearl from Yarr. SRCoD turned into Mordana, which started to decline, due to drama that Ket had mentioned. So I recruited as many of the players from Mordana into CKD that I could, since many wanted to do end-game stuff. That's how Cyntari, Ket, Croucont and I all ended up together in CKD.

I'd still like to know how I got a Hokuten pearl, though. Maybe I just outright asked for one, but I don't recall who my connection to it was. I spoke with Limitation on and off, and so maybe it was him. Who knows.

I was late to the scene. I didn't start playing FFXI until June 2004, and I started on PS2. I started in a linkshell with some RL friends called "ZevaComm". My rl stepbrother's character name was "Zeva" and he was the leader. There were only 4 people total in that LS and we all knew eachother irl. We never did much as a group we just used it for socializing.

I was passionate about PLD right when I hit WAR30 and unlocked the job. I studied everything about the jobs online, and decided PLD was what I wanted. I had a ton of fun playing that job. I joined an LS called "KnightsJourney" when I was in my 40s as PLD. We had to do strange role playing trials and a ceremony in Northern Sandoria cathedral afterwards. We would do all PLD events through places like Castle Oztroja where we would clear the zone and get people AF stuff. You can imagine a group of all PLDs whacking away at stuff lol...takes a loooong time and got boring fast. PLD is a damn tanking job not a job to annihalate a zone. That LS got very strange and I didn't like the events we did. I left the LS at around level 52.

My friend Athel got me into her LS "KentuckyFriedChocobo" which was confused with the JPN KFC LS. I would get examined and get tells from people like "wtf are you doing in KFC?". I actually posted a thread on CKD forums explaining we had a different KFC LS lol. It was mostly people in their 50s-60s at first. I had a lot of fun in that LS because I was the only PLD and we did a lot of fun events. I always got to main tank everything. It helped me perfect my skills of tanking stuff in an alliance with higher level melee smacking away at shit and giving me a challenge. Athel, Ambroise, and myself ended up having drama with that LS leader Mynara and we formed our own LS "Exilium" which is still kicking today (led by Ambroise).

I wanted to join CKD. I always read these forums, I was very interested in all the events they did, and I liked Yarr's personality. He was an asshole to people lol, but I like certain assholes. Yarr also seemed like a great leader and was very dedicated to making the best NA LS even better. I signed up for a Dynamis run (would have been my first) with CKD when I was a 70PLD but I had to back out due to something irl. I don't know why I never signed up wih CKD again, but I didn't. PLD wasn't an in demand job at all. CKD had more than enough of them so I never bothered applying for the shell. I knew I wouldn't get in.

Athel started doing Dynamis with Monarchy right when I got to 75 PLD (march 2005), so I joined them for Dynamis. I felt like I was going the other way because CKD hated Monarchy with a passion. I went in with an open mind and gave it a try before judging them. Aiame was very nice to me from the start, but made me co-main-tank in their Dynamis right away lol. I did everything I was told and everybody was very nice to me. I got tells from people saying I did an excellent job. I ended up sticking with them for Dynamis after that, since I made friends in Monarchy and they were all nice to me.

I was so loyal to the people in Exilium I couldn't bring myself to leave for an HNM LS. I had a rep as a very good tank to everybody that played with me. That made me want to join an HNM LS even more, so I could take on more big game. I felt like I was going nowhere with Exilum, and I was having lots of issues irl because I played so much. I didn't want to spend so much time on a game I couldn't go anywhere with, so I deleted Kluya in May 2005.

I got my shit straight irl and got the FFXI cravings again. I took over my irl best friend/roommate's character Ephit in August 2005. It was a 71 BLM. I didn't know a damn thing about BLM lol. I was in Exilium and did stuff with them as BLM to figure out the job. Then I started level grinding and I dropped the shell. I went right back to Dynamis with Monarchy and applied for their shell since Athel was in it. That was the first and only time I've applied to an HNM LS. I got in and stayed with them until I quit in October 06. Even though Monarchy didn't accomplish much compared to other LSes, I was still very happy in the shell. I loved the people, loved the teamwork, and always had fun with them. Even though like 90% of the shell quit or is joining other LS like Atariii, I would still be in Monarchy today if I played helping my friends in the shell make it better.

My little story is pretty much the same... with the addition of TDSoD, and w/e that became when our leader quit.. I can't remember the name. I think TDSoD had some of the best people I've ever played with in it. 6 of us kinda formed a perma and did everything from missions/KSNMs to EXPing together. And then I semi-quit for 6 months and I may or may not end up playing again depending on whose still around after xmas.
