Happy Mardi Gras everyone!
I think it wasn't til I was 15 that I found out that the rest of the country doesnt completely shutdown for a week of partying :)

happy mardi gras! we used to celebrate it in shreveport every year. a parade of floats and busses would move through town tossing beads and candies to all the kids. good times.

I'm going to get fucked up with my roommate and some other friends. I love living in a college town walking distance from bars on nights like this! Even if I have to go to work early tomorrow lol!

It's getting better everyday. Most of the levees still aren't completely fixed yet, but once they are more people will come back. Like I've said before, unless you actually come and see the destruction.. it's very hard for anyone to imagine exactly how much was destroyed and lost.
But, despite what you hear in the newspapers.. new orleans is very much alive.
