Btw lol, mrukk said this earlier but, this guys named spelled backwards is sexrex lol

Theres one simple reason that xerxes was simply badass instead of "gay"

His voice was uber deep and sexy. lol

This is the same general principal that applies to alot of popular anime characters.

He looked more egyptian than persian to me but he was still badass

Well one thing, yea he was supposed to be over the top so, I mean it made sense. The deep voice thing was a nice little touch, the eye brows though killed it lol. Made him look a bit too girly

Everyone has preferences jim but theres always exceptions, and xerxes looks middle eastern/black to me. Just with golden skin. Similar to how egyptians used to look.

Hes actually white in real life, wich is really strange, the guys in the makeup department for this movie did a freaking incredible job

Allow me to quote myself.

"Everyone has preferences jim but theres always exceptions "

its not so much caucasion features that i dislike, its that I generally am not attracted to people who do not have dark black hair.

I also prefer darker skin

Dark skin and dark hair usually mean black or asian guys.

Ding ding ding it all adds up. lol

but ive likes alot of white guys who had black hair and dark skin (( not those gross emo kids who dye there hair jet black but have odd pale skin that doesnt match it and wear too heavy eyeliner, im nto attracted to that. )) usually has to be naturally black

edit edit: why are we talking about my preferences in guys?. . .lol this is a 300 thread

my god that was a shitty episode lol

It was like two jokes stretched into a 22 minute episode. worst ever easily (I don't want anyone to quote me and argue because that's called a derail--I'm allowed to derail but no one else is)

There their army stands, cowering in fear from what they felt at the hands of 300 spartans,

Now we stand, 10,000 STRONG!

best as i remember it

Copy and paste that into your address bar, then press "Enter" to make thread cool again. Scroll to the top of the page after you do this btw and works best I think in Firefox.

Quote:
Hordes Drive '300' to Record
by Brandon Gray
March 11, 2007

300 was anything but spartan, reaping an estimated $70 million on around 4,800 screens at 3,103 theaters in its opening weekend. That eclipses all previous ancient battle pictures by a wide margin, including Troy and Gladiator, and ranks fifth among comic book adaptations.

If the estimate stands, the $65 million computer-generated battle picture conquered the March opening record, previously held by Ice Age: The Meltdown's $68 million. It's also the third-highest grossing start for an R-rated movie, behind The Matrix Reloaded and The Passion of the Christ. 300's opening included an estimated $3.4 million from 62 IMAX venues, surpassing Superman Returns as the biggest IMAX debut ever.

"We felt we were going to be between $35 and 40 million," said Dan Fellman, Warner Bros.' president of distribution. Fellman explained that 300 had 68 percent public awareness in tracking surveys going into the weekend and that only one movie in the past, The Fast and the Furious, had opened to $40 million or more with less than 70 percent awareness. Warner's exit polling indicated that 300's audience was 60 percent male and 52 percent under 25 years old, while the grade from moviegoer pollster CinemaScore was an "A-."

Warner Bros. waged a striking marketing campaign for 300, based on the picture's hyper-stylized, digitally-enhanced look, the mythology of Ancient Greece and the high stakes premise of 300 Spartans fighting a vast army in the Battle of Thermopylae, replete with passing references to freedom to recall past audience favorites like Braveheart and Gladiator.

In the face of 300, most holdovers did not retreat, and overall business rose 39 percent above the same frame last year when Failure to Launch was on top. What's more, the 2007 box office as a whole pulled ahead of 2006 through the same point.

Wild Hogs kept its motor running in its second weekend, down 29 percent to an estimated $28 million for $77.4 million in ten days, while another Buena Vista title, Bridge to Terabithia, eased 23 percent to $6.9 million for $67 million in 24 days.

Among milestones, Ghost Rider became the first 2007 release to cross the $100 million mark and surpassed the final gross of Daredevil, while Night at the Museum inched past Cars to become the second-highest grossing picture from 2006 at $244.8 million
