My first time hearin them. Reminded me of Radiohead or a mellow version of At the Drive In. I'll try to hit them up 5/30 at Ottos. Its the bar that all bands come to when visiting Northern Illinois University

Ozzy has a new album out now. His last album "Down to Earth" in 2001 was actually pretty good, but I can't take him seriously anymore after seeing him on his reality show. That show completely negated everything metal about him.

I just barely got a taste of the new Dream Theater, and I liked everything I heard. I'll be picking it up tomorrow. DT is back!

DT's been "back" for over a month lol

Anyways, I thought I'd show you guys this to prove how tough and hardcore Megadeth is:

Megadeth on the Duck Dodgers cartoon. That's Dave Mustaine consentingly lending his voice to a cartoon. He finally understands that the only person that could possibly find that appealing is a nine year boy, apparently.

Anyways I thought this was hilarious

that's a cool megadeth song, i especially love the 2nd half. the newest megadeth album is so-so, but i still love 'em.

still not sure what i think of the dream theater album. gotta listen some more.

the latest slayer & nin albums are insanely great though.

140 million Americans are. And almost everyone buys the album once it comes out, but it's stupid not to listen to it when you can. What's wrong with you?

Looking through my recent purchases,
the only album I have fully purchased
in the last month was RJD2's
The Third Hand Instrumentals.
I scooped a few J Dilla beats,
a bit of Pepe Deluxe,
and "Ghost Trio" by Blu Mar Ten.
Also for some reason I picked
up a few tracks off Battles album. I
It was new, harsh, rock/metal sounding,
experimental and I was diggin' it.
"Atlas" by Battles was interesting
but I liked "Race/In" and "Leyendecker" better.
I'm an I-Tunes whore. ;p

Korpiklaani: Tervaskanto came out the last week of June, I had to order it so I just got it now. I likes it. They are said to be "Too Finnish for Finns" but they're well-liked everywhere else in Europe, and in at least two homes in New Jersey. lol

The Finnish songs are in the same mode of the language as the national epic the Kalevala, which Tolkien fans would recognize as the basis for Quenya elvish (I'm a hopeless nerd, I know).

I'm not much of a hip-hop fan at all, but I personally love everything I've heard by RJD2.

In most cases it's the mainstream hiphop lyrics that leave me disgusted with the genre, (and the stupid videos)

It's nice to find something to just sit down and listen to that's largely instrumental (at least what I've heard,) and easy to nod my head to.

Meh I don't listen to enough to really know the difference.

Hell I listen to a lot of metal and I can't keep track of of what's what.

I give it a 10/10 but I'm biased that the White Stripes are the best band in the world. I'm liking it better than Get Behind Me Satan, but Elephant might still be my favorite.

I'd probably say 7/10. There are a couple good songs, but it's a little too folk-rock sounding to me. Yarr and I loved their last album, but this one is a little too different from their original style. The song "Icky Thump" is great though.

Im not enjoying Icky Thump that much at all and I love White Stripes. The older the better too. Yet Icky Thump just doesnt have that rough drum and guitar sound.

Like sunshine said, its too folk-rock and not enough classic rock. I always like the original unpolished sound, but now it just doesnt have the same feeling.

I actually like De Stijl a lot. Elephant was good, but Get Behind Me Satan was awesome. I loved every track as soon as I heard it and found myself not getting sick of it for quite a while (well before sunshine did lol).

Id probably say my favorite album is a tie between De Stijl and GBMS.

Got another 2

Zeitgeist by the pumpkins.
Its not bad nor good. I will just warn you don't expect that hard rock sound they used to have. They ditched the phaser and heave distortion. I also think they focused too much on Billy's voice, it stands out too much and i don't care for it 6/10

Eat Me Drink Me by Manson
Same sound he always has. I got it more for the single Heart Shaped Glasses 6/10

Anyone have a go at Velvet Revolvers new one?

On a side note Stern is on vacation so they are doing 20 years of acoustic songs from the show. I was blown away more then once.

Still no sirius. :(

No matter how hard I search I can't find the Joe Walsh solo acoustic Desperado for download anywhere. lol

Well I won concert tickets to see them from a local radio station and it was when they were touring for Elephant, so I think that might be why. I didn't get a chance to catch them on their last tour but hopefully I can snag some tickets and a night off to see them this time around.
