Directed by Rob Zombie, seems a lot more scary than the original for some reason. Might have something to do with the fact that the guy playing Michael is almost 7' tall, haha. I also like that this guy playing him has long hair. First it makes sense since he's a very dangerous guy who's been locked away in a mental institution for 15 years, and second because it just makes him look that much bigger and crazier. I love the Halloween movies so I'm looking forward to this. The only thing I don't like about this (as with the later movies) is that you can see his eyes. I've always thought it was important not to see his eyes because of all the power Dr. Loomis gives to them, "the darkest eyes, the blackest eyes." In that way, the dark holes in the mask become his eyes, and the expressionless face of the mask becomes our killer. John Carpenter was inspired to put so much emphasis on Michael's eyes after looking into the eyes of schizophrenics while doing research for the original movie.

Enough of my shit, here's the trailer.

Just got back from seeing this, it was friggn great. A lot more emphasis is put on Michael in this version, it's by no means a straight remake, and definitely not that stupid tim burton "re-imagining" shit. This version seems to sum up everything that is great about the original series (as in 1, 2, 4, and 5) and expand on it. The body language, stealth, and perfect physical control of Michael are all perfect. One main difference between this and the originals is that Michael is not as stoic or blank. He rages through some scenes, including at least 4 bare handed kills, and basically ripping his house apart with his bare hands along with smashing through 3 doors and several windows.

I also noted (with glee) that the ladies he kills in this get it a lot worse than the dudes. Seems most of the guys go down in an instant, and every woman he kills has to crawl around drowning in her own blood for a bit. Maaaagnificent.

A horrible write-up because I don't know if anyone's actually into Halloween enough to listen to my psychobabble about this series but omahgah just go see it.

Who plays Micheal? Kain from the old WWF would have been good imo.

I can't wait to see this. And I love the Halloween movies expect for part 3, I know the Halloween series wasn't originally intended to be about Michael Myers but it still sucked.

Also the new trailer for the AvP movie looks a lot better than the first AvP. I just hope they didn't show all the best kills in that one preview. Its rated R this time around too.

I think it was better than any other of the Halloween movies, but I hated it, as expected. Sadly, as I've gotten older I've evolved into the typical woman and can't stomach torture. In my teens I could watch anything without flinching.... but now I do the fingers-in-the-ears-while-squeezing-your-eyes-shut girly move whenever something bad is going to happen. Motherfucking son-of-a-bitch estrogen.

I went and saw it :D

I really liked it, it was definitely a very cool portrayal of his past~

Really good movie, I absolutely rank it up with the original
