so how do the different races compare at higher levels? Are Galka ideal for tanking? Humans? Taru Taru? I never got to 75 to see, but I was always under the impression Galka's had it tough early on as far as Pld's went, but that later on they gained a lot of power in tanking. Just wondering.

I ask now because you have a couple Human Pld, and now Triddy and Fattino walking around, so you guys can actually compare.

Almost all of CKD's paladins wear lots of Mp -> Hp stuff such as Cassie earing. So sucking at magic really isn't that big of a deal.

I'm asking from an HNM standpoint, or a Dynamis standpoint, how the different races stack up?

imo race matters little at higher levels, end game gear evens most of it out.

Ya, race is pretty moot. Even though galkas take up too much of my screen.

It's all about talent. Peejo could outtank any elvaan PLD on the server, any time.

i thought the point of this thread was not skill. We are talking races, in which elvaan are the best all around.

Elvaan are probably best all around but the difference between say an Elvaan and a Hume is almost nil when you get right down to it.

I do feel Taru kinda suck since they don't have the 1500+ hp to soak damage, but as far as taking damage per hit all are relatively equal. And comes down to gear since Triddy has Koenig pieces and what not with +10 vit on each.

Look when you have 120+ vit ( I'm assuming triddy has about this much) +4 vit either way doesn't matter much at all. You just as easily say the difference in agility makes more of a difference since there's a chance to dodge/parry/block.

After all whats better taking 1-2 less dmg per hit or avoiding 1 or 2 hits for 2-300 dmg.

Basically just trying to reiterate the fact that it doesn't matter much. I don't disagree, but nor do I think you should care so much. After all not like you're going to be a 75 paladin anytime soon.

I'd rather have a taru paladin who loved playing than a Galka Pald only being one because they are uber.

Much liek I'd rather have a Bard that loves what he does rather than a Bard who was one because it was easy street to 75.

Oh, I can SOOO relate to that. Now she is two and a half and it has evolved into "I wanna watch Jonah!" (Veggie Tales) I don't think Nemo has been in the DVD player for two months...

From a high end perspective, with the gear that's tailoring toward the race (make up the weakness), I'd say it goes from:

Galk - > Hume -> Elv -> Taru

Here's why:

On HNM, you really don't care about anything other than HP, VIT, and AGI.

Taru naturally lost on the hp department consider the hp gear they can wear, so does everyone else. Before Adaman armor came out I'd say hume > galk any day. However, the armor totally make up the weak mp for galk and they'll still get to keep their vit slots to have close or more hp than any other race out there. And since you really don't need more than 200mp for HNM fight, even galka can wear the mp-> hp gear to give them even more hp. For others, hume in particular would wear cassie and pigeon earrings for HNM fights. (CKD has/d 4 hume - shiloh, ket, me,dionil, 1 taru - triddy, and 2 elv - eme, droutout)

Why do I believe elv is not as good as hume? It's due to their nature low AGI. Yes, all pld has low agi, however a hume can wear mp-> hp earrings and still have more agi than an elv with 2 agi earrings. AGI helps to reduce the chance of getting crit from the monsters and also dodge. So that's why elv isn't as good as hume in that department. As for VIT, it only matters every 10 VIT. So if you have someone with 151 VIT and someone with 158 VIT, that really makes no difference. As for HNM since most of them have a much greater atk than a pld's defense, VIT really makes no huge difference as long as a pld's gear isn't totally outdated.

To sum it up, without taking in the skill involve what race makes a best "high end pld" I'd say Galk -> Hume -> Elv -> Taru.

But what really makes a great pld? It's the player's skill and gear. A tarutaru with the correct play style and gear, he/she can be a much better pld than anyone out there. -- Just look at Triddy. He has the style, the skill, and the look - OMGZ.

PS: Thanks Rein :P

Hmm right, there's another race called Mithra :P

Without looking up their exact stats, I'd say Mithra is between Hume and Elv.

Why between Hume and Elv? Mithra's AGI is much higher (that's one reasons they makes great NIN); however, if my memory serve me right, mithra has rather low VIT which could also possibly put them behind Elv.

Again, player's skill + gear > RACE in any day!
