As was outlined earlier this week, patch 1.15a (scheduled for release in early February) will contain several improvements and adjustments to existing features. Today's post will focus on the changes planned for both the market search function and item stack limits.

Continue reading for the detailed report.

Additions to the Item Search Feature

Selecting individual items displayed in market search results will now provide a list of the twenty lowest asking prices for that item, as well as the following data:

  • Retainer Name
  • Set Size
  • Retainer Location

In addition, the number displayed next to item search results indicating how many of that item are available will now apply to the whole market, not only the area (ward/row/den) selected.

Regarding future updates, we are fully committed to improving the overall usability of the item search feature, and are currently considering the implementation of further additions, such as pin-point searches.

Adjustments to Item Stack Limits

In an effort to standardize stack limits in accordance with category type, as well alleviate inventory overload, the limits for all items (excluding those marked as Rare) in the following categories have been increased to 99:

Sundries, Throwing Stones, Eggs, Vegetables, Spices, Fruits, Mushrooms, Foodstuffs, Freshwater Fare, Saltwater Fare, Meats, Dyes, Paints, Reagents, Metals, Unrefined Metals, Metal Sheets, Metal Wires, Weapon Heads, Weapon Butts, Weapon Grips, Chainmail Meshes, Armor Metals, Clasps, Raw Wood, Hides, Leathers, Furs, Armor Hides, Armor Leathers, Footwear Parts, Bones, Teeth & Claws, Wings, Armor, Ores, Stones, Gemstones, Fibers, Cloth, Hooded Attire Cloth, Cloth Bodies, Smallclothes Cloth, Cloth Sleeves, Front Cloth, Back Cloth, Armor Cloth, Feathers, and Armor Parts

That's it. With this and showing of prices, the Market Wards now basically does absolutely everything an Auction House would do. All they need to do is stop it crashing and I hope people can stop begging for it now and let them start fixing other stuff.

Finally!!! Best update ever. I am so happy they are adjusting the search feature to look in all wards. Yeah it's basically an AH that crashes every other day. Good stuff!

Pretty excited about the 99 stacking thing for leathers, ores and lumber. I was going to craft all my Ore and such into nuggets and all my logs into planks/lumber just to capitalize on the 99 stacking thing, but it looks like I don't need to rush off to do that just yet.

According to YG, Orange Juice is classed as "Drink", which isn't on the list, so no.

La Noscea Oranges on the other hand, are "Fruit", which is on the list, so those will stack to 99.

This wil certainly be very helpful. Might kill the cheap 12 stack of alumen I buy often but oh well.

I still want a classic ah though heehee.

Im with Kio, I just feel like this system is trying to be an AH, without being an AH. Its like Square didnt want to rip off its own idea, so they just changed it slightly.

Item searches, sorted by price, spans all wards within a single town. It's an AH without a history. That's what we were wanting all along. Sure it's not called an AH, but if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's an... auction house.

Frankly, I'd rather just keep it like this. All the functionality of FF11's AH, except for the history. Plus it has the added bonus of letting me sell 11 Buffalo Hides instead of requiring me to sell either 1, or 99.

I believe this update is increasing the party SP bonus also. So it might fix it.

I am also happy that hides, leathers, and logs will stack to 99. Hurry this shit up! I vendor so many valuable skins and logs just to empty space in my full retainers.

Its kind of like a pick-a-part auto yard. They tell you how much and where to find the item, but you have to go get it yourself.
