A lot of people who started on PS2 are like level 60-65 now. Truth be told a lot of them just flat out suck. They had all kinds of shit handed to them (teleports, raises, pl etc.) so they don't have the same degree of skill as people who started on the PC release date or shortly there after. Like-

Me>> Sorry, I'm kinda busy at the moment.
Guy>> wtf man u know ur an ass cuz my friend said that he got pl from u and not u not let mi have pl wtf
Me>> I was probably PLing in a friend of mine's party or something like that. Listen I don't have time for this. If you get shit handed to you the entire time you play, you won't be any fucking good at the game, so just tough it out like most people do.

I had a similiar situation happen to me that happened to Yummy.

Guy>> Can you give me 40k so I can get my new armor?
Me>> Um... no
Guy>> Dude c'mon I nned it for my armor!
Me>> Okay, firstly you need to understand that not all high level people are rich, (I had like 16k at the moment, heh.) Secondly, I'm not a bank.

He didn't talk to me after that.

The next day I see him in a party gilfarming in Davoi

yeah that reminds me of another story. I had a guy ask me for like 20k once for armor.. I was like ah, no way in hell dude. he said 'wtf you have like almost a million gil worth of armor and gear on and you're telling me you can't spare 20k?'

I replied with 'think about what you just said. If I have spent that much on my own armor, you really think I have gil left over to hand to your rude begging ass?'

Being one of those "PS2" players and having started in March 04, I have to say I have PL'd people I know in my LS and friends and when I was bored I have helped the occasional noob but, I have never asked ANYONE to PL me. Yeah it is nice when the party has someone that is helping but, I understand people have better things to do then PL some stranger they don't know.

I think that maybe the rudeness of the "PS2" player is due to the fact that with the introduction of it and it being a gaming console there is bound to be an influx of younger players and with that less patience on their part. I have been the unfortunate victim of the random rude tells for Gil and raises myself however, I don't really appreciate the over generalization of PS2 players. We aren't all bad players and we aren't all 13 years old. Some of us just started later then those who bought the PC verision. I myself happen to be 37 going on 20 lol.

Yes I was riding a chocobo through Yuhtunga Jungle a couple weeks ago and a random person sent me a /tell "You must come PL my party", I responded "do i fucking know you?" to which he responded "No, but bards make the best PLers", then i said "fuck off 149 mp hello dumbass". Then he proceeded to complain in tells for about 10 mins constantly about how he can't level due to crappy parties. I tell him maybe he should quit, and then blacklist him.

I also have 2 RL friends that just started playing the game and they both beg me for PLs..... I told them after they get a job to lvl 30 then I can PL one of their subs or something. They won't learn anything from being PLd through the dunes, qufim, jungle etc. They are also constantly asking me for gil, gear and other things. It is ok because I know these people, but they are noobs and should lvl their first job without being PLd. It was different when I was PLing Evilelf's war sub for his monk in SSG, because he had already leveled there 432434 times and knew how to play the game. My friends on the other hand need to learn first hand how to play the game without me crippling their playing by treating them like a baby and PLing them.

omg.. it's worse as a whm.. i mean do i loook like i can d2.. once someone asked me for a d2.. and i said "eh..wat lvl is d2?" and they said "it's different for different jobs" ...which i found to be incredibly interesting... so i just blacklisted them..

oh and i am forever getting asked for a plvl.. if i'm ever not anon going through dunes.. people think anyone over lvl 50 is supposed to be at their beck and call.. apparently we dont have anything better to be doing. Once when i was lvling my smn in dunes i got kicked out of a pt b/c i wouldnt give a plvler 10k.. b/c we were giving him a total of 60k to plvl for a few hours.. DUNES IS NOT THAT HARD...and if you DO die.. you lose next to nooo exp.. these newbs have no idea how much exp you need from lvl 50-75.. if they did i think they'd stfu and lvl themselves..

Also.. i dont think i'd have the nerve to ask someone i didnt know to plvl me.. god i hate ppl..

I only pl people i can stand haha, only person i've pl'ed the longest is talisin

Hah! Me too! I usually reply with "I'm sorry, I can't" which invariably leads to the newb saying "Plz omg, I need a D2!" Maybe I should change my reply to "I'm a RDM, not a BLM, like... omg... duh!"

Anyway, I never saw a party get powerleved at all until a few months ago when someone in my LS started PL'ing all their parties on a second character with their first char. Now I'm going back to level my subs to 37 (oh, the pain) and everyone and their mother is talking about the party they just got powerleveled in. It seems that it's a lot more of an accepted thing by the whole pre-lvl 50 community right now, which is probably why people are receiving random requests from people they don't know. Sorta akin to WHMs getting random requests for raises, it's now just part of the game philosphy to get powerleveled.
