You know...I have seen lots of rangers using Bison steak, and i have no idea why. It only gives an 18% attack boost. the only good thing about it is that it has a very high cap to the amount it can boost (90). Coeurl sautee and yellow curry give 20% boosts but cap at 75. The higher cap of bison steak only matters for people with a base attack of 417 or more, before that, sautee and curry will give a higher boost. Now i dont really think that any rangers have a base attack stat that high....so why are they spending more money on inferior food...? Can anyone tell me what the base attack stat of a typical 75 ranger might be?
Btw the 417 base attack is just the spot where bison steak will start to boost by more than 75(the cap for sautee and curry). And yes, sautee and curry do work for ranged attack.
This really goes for all melee though...if you only have 200 base attack and use bison steak...it is only giving a boost of 36 attack, while a dhalmel stew(25% boost) would give 45(which is the cap for that food)....yet ive seen people eating bison steak at lower levels for some reason...just wasting their money.
As for rng's, I do notice a difference in the bison or marbled steak. Although I consider it minimul and not really worth the money. The problem with rng atk is we have no real idea of what it is...we can't see it. My assuption would be it is atleast equal too if not greater than my normal atk that I can see. My base atk is 396 as a rng. With roughly +75 rng atk from eq giving me about 469 rng atk (with alot of assumptions) This is assuming and not calculating whatever a rng's base atk is considering lvl and or base stats. Which sadly we do not officially know. Either way A 75rng is going to deffinately have I would say 450+ rng atk thus making the higher cap from the bison or marbled steak have a slight affect.
