Someone on allakhazam said Deodorize prevents undead from smelling your blood. Is this true?

I've tested out the idea that Deodorize prevents already-aggroed monsters from tracking you, if you can get enough of a head-start, but it does not seem to work like that. Orcs, which supposedly "track by scent," will find you if you sleep them and run, whether you use deodorize or not.

That'd be cool, but I doubt it.

From what I get deoderize prevents mobs from aggroing you at a distance. Ever lvl in Kon. Highlands and the Quadav keeps moving closer and closer and closer

With deoderize I think they just give up and walk away.

I always assumed it help to lose aggro on mob you can avoid by walking in water (crawler, orc).¸
I'm not sure if it's deodorize or my luck, but I survived many aggro casting this spell in ifrit cauldron, especially from the octaeyes type

If you use deodorize as a thief after having Snugluk the Hungry Kitty-Eating Orc, you can hide to lose aggro....otherwise, they will continue pursuing you and hide will not function properly....you would think the creatures without noses wouldn't be able to track by scent, but it seems to not be the case
