Dunno, after formating twice, I doubt it's a virus.

Format --> instal final --> download patch --> crash --> desinstall final --> window crash --> reinstall window --> can't boot --> format

[]Help me out[]

What OS are you using? If its windows make sure you update/patch the hell out of it before you go trying to install something like FFXI.

You don't need to warm him, I'm pretty sure I can cut my hand even if I got warned.

I would like to think it's the fan, but it seem to work normally.

I doubt it's an overheating problem... overheating usually wouldn't cause the computer to just reboot on it's own, not continually anyway... that's usually a memory issue. I'm assuming since you formatted it's the same HDD you had previously.... are you using windows ME? XP? 2k? If you're using XP, is it home or pro? Have you installed any service packs? Have you installed anything prior to it?

How much RAM, and hard drive space do you have, and what's your processor speed? Also, what brand is your processor/board (athlon/celeron/etc)?

There's a lot of possible issues... with some info I can probably figure something out though.

Intel P4 2400, Window xp, SP2, 512ram

It was crashing before and after both format and Service pack. I really doubt it's a software problem.

I dont seem to have any trouble with fan and I have trouble seeing it over heating when I do absolutely nothing. I'm thinking about power supply because when it shut down, it really look like I had a power outage. Ram could be the problem, but it reboot when I do absolutely nothing.

Kay, if you bought your computer at Ordi Plus, you can just bring them back your old Power Supply and they'll give you a new one for free. Cost nothing to try :)

I bought it at Future Shop. I'm looking for the warrenty to see if I can bring it back to have a few piece replaced. The only problem is that they are always slow as hell, I don't want to lose it for 1 week

Friend of mine was having that same kinda problem, if it were RAM, you would be getting an error message. The only thing that leaves is your CPU and your power supply. Make sure your processor fan is clean and getting plenty of airflow, if the problem is not that, you may want to look into getting a new power supply.

Intel has a few downloadable applications to monitir HEAT zones and Power voltages... try downloading that and monitoring it for ahwile - you can also modify the 'warning' thresholds.

Usually before your powersupply 'shits the bed' - it will tend to reboot by itself...

place the back of your hand hear the powersupply area - as it will overheat before it "melts down" - (not literally).

It might be a day week or month before it dies (I give it a week).

Also check your powerstrip and outlet (maybe it was moved kicked or resting in a way that would cause a disruption to your power flow...

good luck.

I brought my computer back today. Good thing it was still on the warrenty.

First thing the guy said was "It's probably a software problem, we will reformat it"
They are real 'tard...I would have fixe it long time ago if that was the problem

I'm not sure how it works, but would my computer "beep" if Bios warning for temperature was activated? Beside, I have hard time to imagine my computer overheating 30sec after I turn it on when nothing is happening. I wish the blue screen would appears long enough for me to read it. I'm pretty sure it would have gave me the info I needed.

That beep sound is trying to tell you something isn't right. The bios was designed for that, does it have error screen afterwards? can you tell me what it says?
