I'm not sure how it works, but would my computer "beep" if Bios warning for temperature was activated? Beside, I have hard time to imagine my computer overheating 30sec after I turn it on when nothing is happening. I wish the blue screen would appears long enough for me to read it. I'm pretty sure it would have gave me the info I needed.
usually after your bios loads, the computer should make a short beep from the system speaker just to say "everything is ok" but while you are in your OS, the computer will make a sound when it hits about 70C or so. it is pretty common for a CPU to get to this temperature very quickly and cause a system hang if you dont have thermal grease properly placed onto the cpu core... just a tad bit o computer temperatures 101 for ya
