Well I know how much you guys like these threads haha, actually I just make them for myself since this is as close to a blog\journal as I'm going to get.

So, what's different? Well my progress is coming along even better than ever. My trainer said he normally doesn't notice much change in his male clients (since he isn't "Checking them out" haha) but has noticed a distinct difference shoulder\chest. He also said the strength building is going really well since we have not slowed down in the amount of weight we add each session. (we ad like 10 lbs to ever set some times 20lbs).

So now my daily routine(not including weights with my trainer 3 days a week) is like 30 min of cardio, 3 sets of 50 sit ups (increasing weight each set), 3 sets of 35-40 push ups and 3 sets of 15 chin ups (palms facing in).

That's good compared to when I started I could only do 2 sets of 20-25 push ups, 2 sets of 30 sit ups(my back would hurt if i did more, it never bugs me now), and 2 sets of 10 chin ups. I was also seriously drained after doing them. Where as now, when I'm done its not a big deal (I need to get more weight) and I'm hardly out of breath at all. Tal can tell you that. The Chin-Bar is in his doorway so I do them there. At the start I use to piss him off with my "holy hell I think I'm going to die" sounds after I finished. haha

I've also started adding to my muscle mass I think, my weight has gone up just a little and I am filling out.

I think the one thing that makes me feel best so far is the progress with my abs. I've made it a point everyday to do 3 sets of 50 sit ups. The first set with no added weight, second set with 10lbs and third set with 20lbs. By the end of the three sets I'm literally ready to fall over and my abs kill. Its all very worth it though, I made it a goal to have "abs" by April and good god I'm coming along very well. The upper 2 set of abs visible now and I can actually see a shadows cast by the outline of a coming six pack(thats the first sign). I don't have a little "pouch" around the belly button area. I can actually feel my abs when I cross my arms. I can feel the bumps under my arms haha. Seriously, its f'ing satisfying. I also lost my spare tire. I couldn't be more happy with myself and how I look, I actually get excited about the idea of how I'm going to look with more time.

I really really really recommend that if you've been thinking about going to or going back to the gym you do it. If you don't have time, you should just do a daily routine targeting the muscle groups that you want to tone up. Its amazing what a little cardio and exercise (plus eating right, the biggest reason for my change is the massive change to my diet) can do to your body.

I wish I had before and after pictures. I really do haha.

Anyway, you don't have to reply to this. Like I said, its more like a journal for myself. Im half way through my training and wanted to mark it with a post on how I felt and blah blah blah.

Although I wouldn't mind hearing what other people are doing to get out and exercise more.


oh and any tips to improve my work out or new stuff I could try would be cool too. I need to target my lower abs, since I think my current crunches are mostly targeting the upper abs.

The way i work out my lower abs is in the chin ups position (sort-of).
Bring your legs up while in the air. exacly like this:

But you have to have those black things around your arms, or you get way too tired. Their called Ab-Origionals.
Thats how i do my abs generally. I dont see good results doing sit-ups.

Actually when I do my chin ups I start from a standing stance and bring my legs up so my knees stick right out (almost like im crouching when my head reaches above the bar). I noticed it works my mid and lower abs, but yeah it makes the chin up alot harder. Mind you when I do chin ups I bring the bar to my chest (this works the tricepts a little more I think, or it could be bad posture, still my tri's piss on me after).

After my abs look really good Im going to work on my tricepts. Right now I have 0 muscle there. That and my trapps, but my trapps have shaped up nicly with my training sessions so I dont think I need to target them. Right now its just all about my abs and building strength everwhere else.

Maybe you should try it with the Ab-Originals.. it really works.
All you do is bring your legs up and down. liek the picture abuve.

yarr you should track how much muscle mass you've gained. Also take pictures before and after starting now, so you can see the dramatic differences. Also it took me about 20 mins to write this, people have floaty eyes haha

I do wish I had a picture of before but I really never thought I was going to stick to this thing, nor did I honestly thing I would see results after like 2 months(mind you its been a huge change, not like someone who decides to goto the gym 3 times a week and continues to live their live exactly the same, I do thinks totally different now).

I did however get a full stats of myself (weight, body fat %, water % ) and stuff like that done back in january and when im done my 20 sessions (im on like session 9 or 10, i might get more) I was plan on getting a nother read out. Im almost sure my body fat % has gone down. It least I look a heck of a lot more tone. My brother (not tal) actually is so impressed he wants to sign up for the gym too.

Im going to bring him a cupple times using my "guest" pass.

There wont be any pictures until summer time when I can get some colour into this horrible white irish skin of mine haha.

Seriously, Im irish and my skin is a clearly white tone haha. I also refuse to goto a tanning place. Thats to gay, even for me.

Actually, last time i went to one of those places with a friend, there was about 13 girls there and 2 guys.
Thats a good girl to guys ratio. This was a prtty busy place, a decent way to meet new people too.

From my experience my biceps have grown FUCKING HUGE.

By far the biggest improvement so far for me, and my chest is starting to get kind of defined.

How do you do sit-ups yarr? We use a machine with weight, then between each set do 50 crunches, then increase the weight each set on the machine. I can see my abs getting tighter... but not really "bigger" like I'm not seeing any 6-pack lol.

Man I can remember my reg weight used to be 155lbs. Right now I am 190 lbs. (Damn it I really need to lose weight)

Anyways when I used worked in a very fast hard job that I did before and after 6 months I weight 132 lbs. Damn that thin. No work out there.

Well when I started to drives trucks that where it got me there and ended up being 190 lbs. But not that fat but belly need to get back to a 6 pack so I am going to start working out soon so I can be about 140 lbs. As it should be my goal. Hope I can knock off 50 lbs and keep it that way.

Hay yarr keep that up and you will be better than before. Also where damn pic. :lol:
