hmm, i remember i was running around saruta one day when some level 1 no name taru started talking to me. i figured he just wanted me to help him or PL him but then i noticed his name was Mototo
and i remembered mikey saying he was going to make a mototo character when we were leveling one night in the valley

i saw a twinkle in mototo's eye, the look of "i am small, but i am destined for greatness." i know mototo is an extremely slow leveler, and he has like 3 gil, but he really should come along to fafnir runs because of that twinkle.

naa its ok... i just didnt wanna ruin the thread. the /em one was i think me witnessing my first death in valkrum dunes and i got creative with my macros

Speaking of that, I remember I had just partied with you all in CN the day before and for some reason was in Windurst for something. Out of nowhere TS sent me a tell asking me to come to CN and party. I was like, "OMG they want me to come to CN all the way from Windurst? WTF?!" Back then that was a LONG way. Long story short, I chocobo'd all the way and that party got me to level 60 before the MP Refresh/Madrigal factor came into play.

I think Mikey joined us one day in Sorrow Valley, Nippler and him traded spots because Mikey got into a fight with the party leader and got kicked. (Koda maybe?) First BLM I ever saw that had a dagger and meleed. lol

Here's some nostolga. I remember Mikey for the first time inside Eldime Necropolis hunting for papyrus. He was, "troubled" by the papyrus drops, or lack there of. I think I told Whisp that we had better help the poor kid before he kills himself. lol First impressions.

FYI koda didn't kick me he blisted me for 10 mins lolol. I remember what nippler told me in a tell, "you can have them" LMAO little did i know i was in for one hell of a ride when i partied with yarr you and whisp.

lol yeah it was strange that nippler just all up and left us like that. I mean I still like him but I always thought he was having fun. The higher level we got the slower and harder xp was. Nippler hated not having refresh and I think thats why he left us. I just remember our perma group always joking around and having fun. We just ran around and have fun trying to get a little xp along the way.

I remember how bad everyone hated koda man he could be a huge pan in the ass.

I probably haven't said it but I'm lucky you guys found me. With your help I got through the typical grinds that cause most people to quit. Limit breaks, AF Quests, and Coffers. Didn't really think about it much till I saw how much trouble others were having with those things. To us, it was just "protocol." Thank a ton.

Wowowow, the way things all tie together. I think I was about level 60 or so. I had partied one night with Whisp in Valley of Sorrows and seeing how at even that point I found red mage to be boring, I had started sending Whisp tells talking about whatever, I think initially I asked him if I had refreshed him (Attention span, {Where?}) blah blah, the usual mage chat. A couple weeks down the road, (I think at this point Whisp was 65ish, maybe...) I get a tell from him saying something to the effect of:

"Hey I remember partying with you in Valley, my party is willing to hold off on XP for a few days so you can catch up to us if you would be interested in doing a permanent party?"

Of course I've never really been into permanent parties, and I felt bad turning Whisp down, not only was I not exactly up for the permanent party (although in retrospect it would've been kind of neat so I could've leveled whatever,) but I hadn't even finished limit 3. I didn't even realize that a few of the people in the party would become my peers in CKD, (although it makes sense.)

Hell, I didn't even know Yarr until I joined Hokuten, (which was shortly before the CKD > Hokuten schism.) So, I didn't realize he was in that party either. haha

I also found it a bit odd after reading this post that around the 64-66 range, I was pretty in a static party with Shiloh and Nippler for about a week. Soon after Shiloh and I joined up with Kristine. I can't recall exactly why we left. I think my reasons for leaving were Lordac's unwillingness to take risks in XP and Shiloh was leaving as well, thus hindering progress considerably. Honestly, if a) I didn't make fun of Kristine so much and b) didn't have to work when those guys XPed (usually around 8 cst) I probably would've stayed with them until 75.

Another fond memory of mine was going to Labyrinth of Onzozo for the first time. I was horribly underleveled ,(2k from 59, lol,) but Alcrest was in need of a RDM so I said, fine XP is XP. That was the first time I met Mikey. I can't remember for sure, but I think he died then too. haha

actually i was 67, had not had a party in about a month, so i tried to form a perma. it was gonna be pld:mirza, drg:exo, mnk:farfire, whm:me, blm:i dont even remember, and rdm:you, but since you said no we went with disgaea

i ended up dropping that and i quit the next day for 6 weeks. so none of them were future ckd except me

Yeah CKD has basically been formed from perma groups and old hokuten members. My perma group was inducted, peejo's perma group and then some hokuten like ilma, kayne, ruby, ss, azn and stuff.

reading this thread is a total trip.

hahahaha... nostalgia +54 holy shit. yea i remember that group in sorrow valley... mikey was being a noob so i blisted him then my group started crying and he promised to have sex with me so i unblisted him. i have no clue the reason, but yea i did kick one of them cuz i remember the crying afterwards so clearly...

hm, i remember everyone said johnpaul was a shitty tank so i shouldnt group with him... i told him about it but didnt say who and he got pissed, i think that's what made him a good tank later on. he started using half the abilities he was supposed to... this all happened when i was on my way to rollenberry fields... sigh. yarr it sure took you a hell of a long time to hit 75, i always got groups with no english knowing they leveled faster, haha.
