ok im not going to explain the whole story you you because its just a waste of time and time is money and money is green

SO... im down to getting a new video/graphics card, and i dont know whether to get an AGP or PCI kind.. i was looking at the specs to find a difference and i didnt find any that really made a difference.

does anyone know what one is better or what kind you prefer.. and if you could.. tell me if there is even any difference in performance!

AGP = Accelerated Graphics Port

What is AGP?

Designed for Pentium II based motherboards, AGP will, among many other benefits, deliver a peak bandwidth that is 4 times higher than the PCI bus using pipelining, sideband addressing, and more data transfers per clock. It will also enables graphics cards to execute texture maps directly from system memory instead of forcing it to pre-load the texture data to the graphics card's local memory. AGP is based on the PCI 2.1 standard which calls for a 66MHz PCI bus speed.

AGP = Peak at 533MB/s in 32 bits
PCI = Peak at 133MB in 32 bits

That clear it up a little?

my video card is running on AGP and its better than PCI, man its been so damn long I use those PCI if I did go back to those I would see big def.

Okay, in other words, AGP is quite fine for the latest graphic cards.
PCI Express is good 8x+ which the drivers for it are still under
development (refining) and it might not be so stable.

AGP supports the best cards still, and in my opinion PCIe will
be only worth it when 32x, 64x comes out (around 2006-2007ish).

Might also be fairly less expensive to go for AGP.

You will have less problems (as of now) for sure with AGP.

AGP 8x that is anyways.
