I restored my character yesterday and i decided to go and fight shiva in mini battles...but i traded the fork and the guy did nothing. so i thought ok ill just rezones, so i did and still nothing happened. so i went off to mhura (sp?) to kill ramuh and same thing the NPC didnt do anything. So i decided to go fight ifrit, and now the kazham airship wont even let me on. It says for passengers only but when i talk to the guy who gives you the key quest he acts like ive already done the quest.

so basicly im thinking, the game knows ive finished or started the quest but then it doesnt allow me to use the same functions as in ride airships thinking i havent completed the quest. i have all the key items for the quests im doing and i've asked around and everyone just says call a GM

so right now im thinking ether wait a couple days for it to go away
or
my character is fucked up

I've called a GM and they basicly said
"Ask your friends cause were dumbasses, if nothing happens in a week call us back and wait 4 hours for our response"

does anyone have some suggestions or any experience with this that can help me out?

Might not be client side. If re-installing the game (i doubt this would change a thing) doesnt help,
then you can only be helped by the SE people.
Call them back and speak with someone on the phone, its ur best bet.

Make sure you registered the Zilart expansion...

i figured out what ur problem is

you eather diden't re-install the zilart pack or you diden't re-register it, eather way thats why u can't do the zilart area's or quests

Two things:

Did you ever delete your installation of FFXI prior to restoring your charecter, and did you register Zilart when you re-installed it?

And if you did have Zilart registered, humor me and get a Teleport-Yhoat. If you can go to Elshimo then you registered Zilart.

sounds weird, but if you had your character erased its possible it reset your fame. even though you have key items for stuff if you dont have fame then it wouldnt work.

zilart wouldn't effect shiva.. that's fei yin, i think xiona might have a point with the fame thing, what's the npcs say when you speak to them?

Actually I think all of the Cloisters (Cloister of Gales, Tides, etc.) were added in Zilart, so you could try zoning into any one of those.

Yeah I think the smn (and sam and nin?) job was added with Zilart but I am too lazy to check this for sure. Just make sure you installed that since it's the easiest thing to rule out first.

If that's not it then I have no idea what is wrong.

As others said, I would first check that you registered the expansions, after that, it would be a large pain in the ass, but I would reccomend re-installling, maybe.

well.....i never registered after the restoration i never thought i needed too. if this works ima feel liek a dumbass.
