I was the only one penalized for spamming so far (that i know).

Yarr removed 500 post from Kioto's and Ike's post count. After that Kioto pretty much stopped posting becuase some of his post that were on-topic were deleted. But he's back kinda-sorta.

Yesterday was pretty bad with Ike+Ponuh posts though. Glad you guys realized it.

We can reset post counts without deleting all the persons posts.

What's the big deal with having your postcount lowered? I know I wouldn't care if they'd reset mine.
Oh yeah, now I remember... for every 100 posts you make, your e-penis grows by an inch.
Really though, it's quality that matters, not quantity.

Hi, post count really doesnt matter. What matters is the action.
Could be the smallest thing, like changing one letter in someone's
post to banning someone, it doesnt matter how it is done, what matters
is that it was done, and the action is what counts.

Personally i dont care about post count, as i said about 4 times,
but it is interesting to see how no action is taken when some
other people do it. Only reason why i still come here is because
on a rare occasion a decent topic appears, and to read mikey' posts.

I dunno, someone deleted one of my posts yesterday (the first time ever for me i think) and it pissed me off a lot at first, but then i quickly got over it and changed my retaliation post.

i see both aspects of the argument. On the one hand, even though they're not privatized these are the ckd boards owned/operated/paid for by yarr, and since we're guests here he has the right to delete and/or change any aspect of the site he feels fit, yes, that includes your post(s) and post counts.

On the other hand, why open your board up to the public and then get pissed that people LOL to something or comment to someone else (could be completely unrelated) or make some semi-pertinent comment (like an inside joke) to them.

really the main thing that bugs me about the whole issue is that i see ckd members (and friends of ckd members) hi-jack threads and say useless or off-topic things, but they never get penalized for it. I think this has a lot to do with a lot of the people kind of being under yarr/ckd moderator team's radar. (example: people who will post off topic, but they post once in a blue moon, so it's not something they're doing in every new thread).

I think people who notice they're overzealously posting need to just double think before they click submit and wonder if what they're about to post has any bearing on what the topic of discussion is. In that same regard I think yarr/ckd moderating team needs to stop being so anal about it, and realize they're going to drive some of the more fun people who post and make my 9-5 a little more interesting away (unless that's the whole point).

Anyways that's my 2 cents on it.

If a post hurts the thread I delete it. There was some stupid bickering about 10 posts long of Ike/Ponuh's in someone's Maat victory thread, and it really took away from the dude's original post on how happy he was on beating Maat. So ya, that's gone. And Kioto, I'm not really sure what was done to your account, but all of us in CKD to not encourage the sorts of things you're interested in (ie. third party programs for FFXI). Usually I let threads you start about programs and junk sit for a day or two so people can discuss, but then move it to the archive before things progress any further. It must be frustrating yes, but these are our public forums and we take action against those sorts of posts.

Off-topic posting is going to happen a lot. Conversations in real life digress a lot too, so it's really no different. I don't really like it, but it's something I'm going to deal with. The thing that irritates me is the bickering back and forth about things like grammatical issues, spelling errors and things of the sort.

i just honestly don't care any fucking more, every day its a problem .. whatever already.

Yeah, i agree i have started maybe 3 threads about a
3rd party program of which i found interesting and wanted
to share and hear what other people thought about it.

I never posted any direct links to any downloads or have
advertised any specific software that wasnt asked for.
I have had quite a few
discussions about hacking/botting and things of that sort,
because i like researching new things. Man... i could say
quite a few things to you right now, whatever.

because i must have missed it.

Kioto, i think you're beating a dead horse man, I know you feel disrespected or whatever, but honestly there's much more worthy battles to waste you time/effort/emotions on. They could've just as easily banned you if they felt you were being too much of a nuisance. I just don't think it's as big deal to the mods as it is to you, they're not trying to stir-up or create drama; Just trying to keep their boards from becoming a big giant mess.

I'm really not trying to be an ass or start anything Rein,
you must understand me. I really have nothing against
anyone in all honesty. Really, i dont even care about
how many posts i have or if my title look fancy or not,
that isnt what interest me, what interests me is sharing
somethings i like, let them be ideas, thoughts, experiences
so on and so forth. I just want you guys to see, and its so
obvious, that with the actions you are taking, you are
penalizing some of the most interesting people in these
forums. Let it be a rule, there must be rules, and there
has to be punishment according to these rules. So if
you're going to yell at someone, for doing something,
its only right for you to yell at everyone that does that
same exact thing.

Or just dont yell at all. The more i come here, the more
i see conflicts under this subject. The more i pull myself
away and influence other people to do the same, because
no1 likes to be in the fire knowing they might get burnt.

I have no say in anything here, and i know my place,
but its somewhat frustrating to see things happening
and it could be simply stopped.

FFACT is a 3rd party program for ACTools, not FFXI.

Its not only used for ffxi, nor it was made on the
sole purpose to. Pointing that out has nothing to
do with spamming, since i didnt even start the
topic, it was a complete fair discussion with
something as evidance to back up my statement.
