I was 73 and hit 74 in that PT :P I remember being all happy to use byako axe.


I'm pretty sure my stats would be a looot different now with merit and my new gear. I wear for like 10million more haha

Also, just a little aside with TP DMG. Damage is calculated in the following manner:

WD: Base damage of your WS
D: Base damage of your weapon (e.g., Espadon = 43)
fSTR: difference between your STR and target's VIT
WSC: Secondary attribute like STR_30 (30% of your STR).
fTP: Multiplier (Please see chart below).
PDIF: (your ATK/target’s DEF)

WSC = integer(any secondary attributes) x @

Level @
Lv75... 0.83
Lv74... 0.83
Lv73... 0.84
Lv72... 0.84
Lv67... 0.86 or 0.87 (perhaps 0.87)
Lv60... 0.90 or 0.91 (perhaps 0.90)
Lv40... 0.94
Lv37... 0.94 – 0.99
Lv31... 0.94 - 0.99

For example, suppose you have 100 STR and 100 MND and use use Swift Blade (STR_30, MND_30).

WSC = integer[(100 x 0.3) + (100 x 0.3)] x @ = integer(60) x @ = 60 x @

@ is 0.86 - 0.87 at LV67 but it's going to decrease as your level is going up. It's 0.83 at LV75

WD = (D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP

I’m not 100% positive, but I think for Sneak Attack with THF main, this is the calculation:
WD = (D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP + DEX + AGI

Actual Damage of WS is then calculated in this way.
Damage = WD * PDIF = ((D + fSTR + WSC) * fTP) * PDIF

Phsyical Chart : fTP multiplier (non-damage related TP modifier in last column)

As you can see, the top three most damaging WS are:

1: Sidewinder/Slugshot (with modifiers of 5.0 at 100-300TP)
2: Spiral Hell (with modifier of 3.625 at 300TP)
3: Steel Cyclone (with modifier of 3.00 at 300TP)
*Mistral Axe has a modifier of 4.00 at 300TP, but since 1H axe has lower DMG, it doesn't really bring up big numbers on WS. Though I could be wrong.

And depending on your equip for each WS and your atk, it's a really nice way to figure out which gear to wear. Notice SAM has a single stat modifier with STR. Because it has no secondary modifier (such as DEX, VIT or INT) a Samurai with decked out STR/ATK gear can probably squeeze out more damage than some of the other classes like MNK since Asuran Fists depends on STR/VIT (it changes) and accuracy.

Ya, I have the calculations for every WS. But Elemental based WS are a little trickier to calculate. Like Shadow of Death has a 3.00 modifier with Darkness damage. TP modifier isn't as much of a boost when there's an elemental value attached to the weapon. Because the WS can be completely resisted if the mob is strong to that particular weapon/element.

Full Swing (Staff 200) have a modifier of 5.0 at 300% Tp.

Eventho Full Swing has high modifier, without high dmg staff, it doesn't really make a lot of differences.

From personal experience all the ranger ive pted with have never parsed particaularly high.

That's pretty cool stuff, what parser is that Ilm? There are quite a few factors to look at in that parser. Just judging by the number of WS's and acc of Jong he was probably not spamming WS's at 100tp like I'm sure Kayne was. Obviously that is all up for debate, but looking at the dmg taken Kayne was also taking more dmg than even the 2 tanks. Just from my personal experiance with a mnk and my rng that seems a bit off, but I could just be wrong. MNK dot is hard to just tell with eyesight.

Also if Jong was using acid bolts that was increasing the entire PT's dmg by roughly 13% or so.

As far as crossbow being slow...the dmg/dly of crossbow is actually the best ratio of any weapon in the game >.>...by far. With the right gear you can take advantage of many bonuses the xbow gives. For example my holy bolts with my gear do more dmg than other rngs or even my Darksteel bolts (on xp mobs) with my added proc dmg.

The parser is nice though Ilm, I know a mnk's dly is basically nothing at high lvls, with the kick attacks and other procs from weapons like Indras I could be very wrong. I'd like to check out that parser myself though, where did ya get it Ilm? ^^

Ya, that parser is cool, but Ilm isn't sure if it has a keylogger or something in it so he doesn't give it out. Anyway, ya, Kayne shoots his load whenever and as fast as possible. He doesn't really give a shit about balancing aggro. Haha. He just makes WHM pay attention.

even dmg/delay crossbow is best... we are lack of job traits that actually support us ( seeing double attack and kick attacks)
Idea: barrage should be rng job traits.

How would you want that to work? Like kick in like Rapid SHot and every now and then Barrage kicks in? Wow, that would make RNG too powerful wouldnt it? lol and u would be tanking (even more than u do now) the whole fight lol

Jong, you guys have Barrage. Heh. That's basically a WS + free TP. Almost every melee job has a trait or ability that makes up for missing or enables them to get TP quicker than they would without it. Without Barrage RNG would be severely gimped. Also, I doubt RNG will ever get a buff again.

Of course haha. We are basically throwing out gils every time we barrage. Ppl gonna cry that rng too powerful and rngs gonna cry with gils gone very fast.
Or maybe a new job trait : Weapon Smack - smack the mob with your crossbow/gun

i love how rangers always complain about not having abilities to further make them stronger, yet they are already WAY to powerful... just my personal bias though

Hey I love the rng job, I just want a lvl 75 Bow with like 80dmg/500dly and +20rng atk +20 rng acc. That would be about even to the God weapons all other jobs get. Oh wait that's the relic one...gay. lol

Relic Weapons are seriously overpowered. I'm really looking forward towards Apocalypse, with its 103DMG, Blindness, Haste and Drain WS... in about ten years. What are the stats on the fully upgraded Relic Bow/Gun anyway?
