ok... I pay 14.95 to play this game for every month. Theres over 2000 ppl on ifrit, and theres about 25 servers? so SE obviously makes some decent money...

YET THEY CANT KEEP THE FRIGGIN UPDATE GOING?! they post a "srry our machines cant handle the amount of ppl that pay to use our service, so plz log in at 3am to download the update kthxwelovejpn" message on their site. I would understand if the download was just incredibly slow, but not connecting or disconnecting is not a solution.

Then again, theres the Steam system for HL/CS that takes forever to download updates, but it WORKS and i dont pay a dime for extra service...

Moral of the post: SE needs to work on their hardware problems...

Not many server networks can handle 60,000 (~30 Servers x 2,000 people online at anytime) people all trying to download at the same time.

I'm surprised the entire system doesn't just collapse, randomly booting people downloading is graceful.

maybe they should implement a queue kind of system, like fileplanet uses... that way ppl just have to wait for an open spot instead of clicking retry every minute or so

or even, spend a chunk of the money they have, and get 1 server specifically for each world just to deal with the 2000 requests.

i dunno, im just really pissed cuz lately ive been DYING to play, and since there have been 3server maintanance in the past week, its getting a little rediculous.... just trying to vent my frustration in a non-destructive manner

i am able to finish the download after 6 hours..... once i failed at around 50%....

now, i was in game playing. after 1 hr.. i got kicked out.. can't log on, getting POL_1160 error.. anyone else is having this problem??

i was one of the lucky few that logged on right after maintenance and was able to get into the game right away....took only like 12 min...well a friend and I decided to form an exp party and we were doing great...that is till our PLD dc'd and never came back..im guessin it was from what everyone else was going through...well to make a long story short, we couldnt even find a replacement because there were so few ppl on >.< I just ended up sitting in Lower Jeuno listening to the somewhat humorous /shouts for the rest of the night..

I finished my download like 1.5 hours after the patch was complete, not failed once. Maybe Europe and US use different download servers?

If there's one thing that sucks about living in Hawaii, it's that by the time I woke up, you mainlander folks were long since clogging SE's interweb with your update attempts and I couldn't even get past the Start Update screen. >_<
If there's one good thing about living in Hawaii, it's that this gave me time to go to the theaters and have a day long movie binge of all the new flicks I wanted to see, then was able to come home later that night after all you silly mailand folk were sleeping already, and finish the update in 1 easy click. ^_^

Yeah I know how you feel, I got in for about 25 min last night on it and it was orignally 900+ files, mine is only 655 this time around so it shorter, but I will probably get booted at 60% or so like others.
