But, instead, you seem to learn most through dealing with others. And so, most of those born under the sign of Aries take relationships very seriously. In fact, it could be said that of the twelve star signs, you're among the ones that suffer most greatly when without a partner. At the same time you find great strength being on your own, having to make decisions without talking to others, or dealing with conflict without the support of others can be very challenging for you, yet allows you to discover a strength within that is not only a powerful and significant resource, but is in many ways what you're all about as an Aries.

Still with Libra ruling the relationship angle of your chart - and Libra being the symbol for balance - it is a balance between that need for sovereign independence and the capacity to develop strong bonds of trust with another that is central to your existence. In fact, when it comes to star signs that are a good match for you, one of the most lasting matches is Aries and Libra.

Ironically, another frequent match for Aries - and one that works very well - is an Aries-Aries one. The two of you seem to understand each other's need for independence - and to be close – and, thus, balance each other. The other fire signs can make an interesting combination, too. Aries with Leo creates a volatile, intense, but strong bond. Less frequent, but powerful can be Aries with the fire sign of Sagittarius, although Sagittarius' wandering tendencies can be frustrating for Aries, who likes attention focused on them in the here and now.

Of the air signs, in addition to Libra – Aries' opposite sign and, perhaps, most natural partner – Aries and Gemini can be good friends, although are less frequently romantic partners. And perhaps the rarest combination is Aries and Aquarius, which is as free-spirited as Sagittarius and therefore tends to wander off - to the frustration of Aries.

The sensitive water signs combined with the intense fire sign, Aries, can be an unusual match, but one where - if an understanding is built - then there's a strong friendship, if not intense romance. This is particularly the case with Aries and Scorpio, who, while they perhaps never entirely understand each other, deal with their emotions and life on a similarly intense basis. Aries and Cancer can be at odds with each other, simply because of Cancer's sensitivity. This may be why, with the passionate and egotistical sign Aries on the relationship angle of your chart, you're so often drawn to self centred individuals. They, too, are trying to establish an identity. As a Libra, your focus in on establishing harmony - a balance - with others. You tend to think that if that balance has been achieved one day then things should stay that way. But life isn't like that. Each dawn brings its own challenges and consequently, however exquisitely balanced and harmonious a relationship was yesterday, that's not to say it will be the same today or tomorrow. Once you realise the truth of this, that any relationship changes its nature and, therefore, its point of balance every day, you won't be frustrated when the harmony you've achieved only a day ago has somehow vanished and you must recreate it all over again. Rather, you'll realise that this is a rare opportunity to learn anew every day about relationship, which in many ways, is what life is all about for you.

When it comes to dealing with individual signs, many Libras partner with your opposite sign - Aries - for this reason. They're as passionate about life as you are and therefore willing to take an active role in the struggle to achieve harmony that's so important to you. The other fire signs - Sagittarius and Leo – are exciting, but don't mind a bit of tension – if not on-going difficulties. In fact, Sagittarians tend to be so elusive that Sagittarius-Libra combinations are very rare. That's less the case with Libra and the romantic Leo however; there are many warm Libra-Leo combinations.

When it comes to your fellow air signs, while many Libras and Geminis and Aquarians are good friends, partnerships are less frequent, simply because, living in your head, as you do, there is very rarely the kind of passion that is necessary for a romantic relationship to flower. If there is a partnership, often it will be of a professional nature - and sometimes that will develop into something more romantic. Still, unless there's something unusual in the individual birth charts, these relationships usually remain friendships.

In dealing with the earth signs, Libra will often connect powerfully with Capricorn. Being cardinal signs, you're both driven and have a similar understanding of life itself. Libra and Taurus are both ruled by Venus which, of course, is the planet of beauty and harmony - and here, too, there's an understanding that can create a powerful relationship. Less frequent is the relationship between Libra and the rather critical Virgo, whose priorities are very different from yours. Consequently, here, too, is a combination that lasts only if there are strong bonds between the individual birth charts.

When it comes to water signs, there can be close relationships with Cancer, who while sentimental, is also intense and passionate and can be very close with Libra. This is even more the case with the even more intense Scorpio. Pisces' mystical qualities can draw Libra in, but it's an unusual combination in a lasting relationship unless the charts match well.
