Why do they HAVE to remake one? Why not have a fresh new adventure not an old one with updated visuals on Xbox WTFPWN?

They shouldnt remake any FF, just do a new one every few years like always ;/.

And people need to shut up about the old FF being better when their appreciation for it is mostly due to nostalgia . FF6, FF7 were the first "good" rpg for many of us and that's why I think everybody is stuck on them.
Introduce FF serie to someone starting with 8, or 9 or any other for the matter and it will usually be their favorite.

Well, I say: QUIT MAKING FFVII SPIN-OFFS AND RELEASE FF12!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, which is now delayed till mid-2006. They better release KH2 soon >___<

Same for most of us I'm not saying nostalgia is the only factor involved, you still need a good game at the base and that's why I said FF6+ (not necessarily the same for everyone, but I think story, music and character developpement got much better after this game).
Again, it depend of every person, but usually, someone's favorite game is the one he played over and over when he was younger and had nothing else to do.
I probably have 2000hours of gameplay on CT, a lot on FF6, FF7, Breath of Fire 1/2 and for some reason those game feel more "special". I remember being deceived at first by FF8, but it was mostly because I was expecting FF7 again. I'm not saying there is no flaw in ff8, maybe the game was even worse than FF7, but I doubt the difference is big enough to consider FF series is going downhill or anything. After beating it 3-4 times, I think i enjoy it as much as any other game in the serie (beside FFX-2)


People are stuck on FF7 more than any other game because it was the first new generation Rpg and because there was no other competition, people hyped it for the next 3 years .

That looks great. It's long been a dream of mine to see all the FF games remade with updated graphix. FFIII or VI in Japan would be soooooo great remade. That was my favorite FF game evah.

Might be alittle early for it but ff9 could stand to be remade (( More realistic character designs)), then maybe more people would play it without the characters looking like little gnomes.

First FF was 8, then 7 then 9.

X to me was a letdown. 8 Had the best Story, 7 was the best all around, and 9 was really just...harmless fun.

What the HELL is wrong with everyone here who likes FFVIII?

It had a realistic STORY? Are you on drugs? Some crap about "Time Kompression" and a "Sorceress" (who we just had to accept had magical powers with no explanation or rationale whatsoever) mixed into a convoluted mess featuring horrifically one-dimensional characters (don't you DARE tell me any of them had depth) with the most pathetic battle/draw/magic system I've ever seen.

Rinoa's blue duster was awesome, though.

About Sorceress in 8, it's hard to say if it's true but there is a few hint that Ultimecia is Rinoa in a future where Squall died, or didnt saved her. Assuming it is, I think the whole game and sorceress thing make a lot more sense and make Ultimecia battle much more important and sad.

People will say its not enough, but one easy hint is Griever, Squall's pendant that he gave to Rinoa earlier in the game.

Anyone noticed how similar FF1 and FF8 are with the "time loop" and all.

well I found this news that its may be poss. that FFVII could be remade from what SE is saying. They did show off more trailer and getting alot of fan loving to see if that game would come out as PS3.

I liked VIII and IX alot. I liked X too but...I just didnt like the sphere system ><

I bet FFXII will become my favorite...mainly because I love the world and characters in tactics advance(Ivalice)...and the battle system etc

final fantasy was never meant to be realistic. 8 was due to a new designer and imo killed the game by making it to real. instead of just having magic you need to draw it from crap. the characters were all human. it was just lame as far as im concerned

i liked 7 a lot more after the 2nd go-round. it's probably the most complex final fantasy in terms of quests, spells, battles, areas, other than ffxi of course.
