Hm. So let's lay out the FACTS, because you obviously have no idea what you're talking about.

First off, it's common knowledge Microsoft loses a TON of money on every xbox sold. If the 360 doesn't do PHENOMINAL (it supposedly is carrying a 400$ price tag) the xbox project will be terminated. That's right, as great as you think the xbox 1 is doing now, it's successor has to do much better.

The company loses money on each Xbox it sells, with some analysts pegging the shortfall at more than $100 per $199 console, meaning that strong sales for the platform actually increase its losses

he Client segment, the Windows operating system part of Microsoft, continues to generate the most profit for the company, with $1.97 billion in operating income on revenue of $2.44 billion.

Now on to Sony and their PsP (That one handheld that was supposed to dominate the world, remember?) Well, bad news. Even after a huge media campaign and stroking from CNN, ABC News, ect, ect ,ect, the PSP's launch has only been called but one thing: "Lukewarm". They had no idea why this was happening, either...

Sony claims to have sold out its first shipment, which totals 1 million units, but a simple look around local stores tells a different story. A quick call to several area Target and Wal-Mart stores revealed PSP’s available at each one. A visit to the local KB Toys found three or four units on the shelves, and the clerk said it hadn’t really garnered much interest.

So, what does that mean? Nintendo is still in first with the DS? Nintendo still has an untouched GBA Market with the GBA Micro? Revolution will offer free wifi and downloadable content of classic games? (omg not good enuf grafics, lawl) Nintendo still has the most beloved series' in gaming history? The gamecube continues to sell strongly?? Nintendo just opened a new "Nintendo Planet" store in New York that is doing extremely well?? The Xbox is on the verge of collapse? Sony has a failing handheld product? OH MY GOD! Nintendo is alive! Better yet! They're doing better than they ever have before!!!

Despite his lack of subtlety I do slightly agree with Sefier on Nintendo's current dilemmas. Despite what Reggie may say the Nintendo DS was not as a big hit as they would have hoped. Just tracking the number of sales and returned/traded in after PSP was released was staggering. Also the fact that it has been out for almost half a year now and has roughly the same sized game library as PSP which debut about two months ago. Don't think that I am saying I'm giving up hope on Nintendo, however. I've always supported Nintendo's systems and software, but I believe there *are* a few things they could be doing differently. At least giving another shot at online gaming and also looking into new publishers and franchises would be great. As much as I love playing Mario Party/Golf/Kart, you can only go so far rehashing the same idea (Although some of these were still very entertaining.) My game library consists mainly of RPGs but I still consider the Gamecube a decent system. Hell, I still think GBA SP is on the best systems, albeit handheld, out there. The best I can do I guess is just hope Nintendo sees how trends in the average gamer go and release some awesome games with the Revolution.

The PSP (Remember, Sony promised a crushing defeat) has sold 1.6 million worldwide, the DS nearing 6 million. Now of course the DS has been out longer but the PSP just simply isn't closing the margin. If they can't even beat Nintendo in the new handheld market, how can they defeat gameboy?

PSP will never overtake DS. DS is just to good. Nintendo knows hand helds. Its almost impossible to break into the market against them.

For once, when the DS came out, i was happy.

Happy for this industry, that someone, SOMEONE would take the initiative to press the industry forward, and maybe turn it on its face. Sure it would attract criticism from pricks like sefier, but still, the DS is a large leap forward, and not following the "Dark Military Base Shooter #218398" cycle we've been having lately. Kudos to Nintendo. Hell, kudos to Sony. They didn't exactly break alot of new ground gaming wise with the PSP, but they did make quite a few significant advances

Yeah it is Myth, haha, makes my posts seem shorter though, lol. Don't take this the wrong way guys, but I was rather dissapointed with the DS (So far) To me, my DS is a revamped SP right now (Which I said is a f'in great system) Like I said before I'm just holding out hoping for some great games to come out. So far I've got Kirby: Canvas Curse, Advance Wars and Castlevania: I forgot the rest, reserved and looking very forward to them.

Not for nothing. The psp has alot of potenial. Ponuh have you actually played some games? Its like having a ps2 in your hands. Thats freaken nuts. Granted the games out now aren't all that incredible. THe one game that is awesome on it right now is ridge racer. I have a ds too btw. It is fun granted.
I love nintento too don't get me wrong. THey just really need the support of 3rd party companies. As much as nintendo says they are fine without them. If they continue (i think its gonna change with rev) to go the same way they have with gamecube and 64, they aren't going to open themselves to the masses like they did back in the snes days.

I have a PSP with Bleach fighting game,metal gear acid,untold legends and Wipeout. its cool to have a PSP. nice screen good graphics...but still I rather play on my PS2 or DS. cause most of the time I play games at home and most of the games on de PSP have similar games on the PS2. I am selling my PSP to buy a xbox360 in nov. I dont know if I will buy a PSP AGAIN (yes again XD this is my second, my first was a JPN PSP) but I might when its released here in Europe so I can play EU UMD movies

Yes. I have played that racing game on PSP. It was fun.

Sure it might have good graphics, be powerful, blah. But that doesn't mean it's breaking new ground, it's just the next eventual step in a line of power upgrades for consoles. I don't dislike the PSP. It's just not very groundbreaking, unline the DS.

The DS is a unique and new way to play video games, whereas the PSP is just a power upgrade into a smaller medium, something that happens with every piece of technology.
