I was browsing a forum when i found this picture.
Seems like he Modded the GUI completly.

I suppose he has a chat window for LS/TELLs separate from other
text. On-screen map is a real nice feature. I wonder what haven't
they done yet...

I've seen a screenshot something using the exact same system (the "windows" looked exactly the same as those) that was tailored for Dynamis.

Had all the pulling maps on the screen, a list of all the Time Extentions and NMs still to be killed, tracked how much time was left in the zone, etc, lol.

Wonder if i could find that screenshot again.

i'm waiting for someone to doctor that in photoshop showing like.. windows with all the hnm/nm/sky nm timers, what your next lot roll will be, alerts to perfect day, moon, weather, etc for hq synths and things of that nature

I've been told thats a packetfinder program, allows you to know where a mob died, when it will spawn, and where it will spawn. Worst part is SE said they arent gonna do anything about it since you have to be at the comp while you are using it.....

It's not packet sniffing, it's to do with memory stuff.

The HP, Max HP, their MP, all of their TP, etc of every member of your party is stored in memory locally on the client even though you cannot normally see it.

Notice the window to the bottom-right. That is not done with packet sniffing, that's done just by reading memory addresses.

There are things called "Pathfinding Bots" that read your current X,Y and Z coordinates from memory and map them to a pre-built node-map, similar to what bots in Quake 3 use.

Using the node-map, the computer is able to move your character around to follow the path. Ever MPK a fish bot, have it instantly HP, but come running right back to his fishing hole to keep on fishing? That's how it's done.

To be honest I'd love to program something like that myself, lol. I used to love messing with AI bots in Unreal and Quake. I could make a bot that would take me from my mog house and get me onto an airship. :P

It times like this that I wish I could read enough Japanese to figure out how they did that. It is pretty cool, and could give you so many advantages in the game if you know how to use them.

Imagine: Oh watching the game clock, its time to move my bot over to the guild. The bot move over to the guild, buys all the low priced items and resells them on AH or starts crafting them. Not cool for us legit players.

Or how about all those people that want to spam spells in order to level the skill. A bot can sit there and do it over night. Crazy.


Heres a question, if you did have a packet sniffing and mob spawn positions, would you tell someone and give out the screenshots? That would be enough proof to have you kicked from the server.

there is a website with an american program that tells you when a monster died in the zone mine points and a radar type map on the screen shoing where its all at have to pay money for membership to d/l it

In my opinion the game should be played the way it was created.
But i see quite a bunch of people who sometimes complain about the
japanese being so unfair and this and that, yet seeying how they
play, still refuse to take some (not much effort needed) to try to
even out the game play.

Packetsniffing does violate the TOS, and some of the memloc readings do
as well. Most of the modifications done client side also violate the TOS,
because its tempering/changing/adding things to game files and therefore
changing the client. But as most of us know, the windower has been out
for about a year and half, and i'm 100% sure that SE knows about it.
I have no doubt in my mind that some GM's might even use something
of that sort if not the windower itself.

I see no malicious intent by using such software; unless of course it drags
into a cheating program which is of course something that isnt quite fair.
I wasnt quite behind on the japanese technology when i used to play ffxi,
and i can tell you that some of you cant even imagine how many people
(in japan & china) use this kinda software to improve their game play.
I can't seem to think of any reasons why something like this would come
off so offensive to some people, as its information that can be helpful to
your gameplay only making the outcome of certain things be on your favor.

But, i guess some people just want to play the fair game, while everyone
else is on a different train. I suppose it pays off, but then again, who knows.

This is of course my opinion, and how i look at things. Obviously i'm just a tard.

I think that SE don't ban theese people or suspend them because they are afraid of loosing custommers.... But I guess there are a lot of custommers leaving because of shit like this. they also have this Pol rule that says that no one can monopolize HNMs. Obviously that rule doesn't have any power on KFC . . .

Again, i dont think it really matters "why" SE wont ban people using such
software, but the real point is that some may just like to sit and complain
about certain things, instead of them doing something about it on their own.

I'm not saying any of us do that, but the strategy is to do whatever is possible
to gain personal items that being for a linkshell or just streight personal usage.
I'm not saying, go ahead and get yourself a power voker or packet sniffer
and hack your way through the game, but what i'm saying is that there
are tools out there that could potentially increase chances of success
on HNM's, Dynamis and much more. Just because some of us choose not to get
involved with such things, doesnt mean it isnt fair for others to.
Its our choice to do it or not, if there's a possibility for you to use it and
you choose not to, then complaining about others using to me is just whining.
Again, i'm referring to the non-malicious software used to enhance gameplay.
