I spent 1.5 mill on Cythara Anglica ingredients this last new moon and got a measely 0.2 skill-up. I synthed only on Darkday NewMoon, actually a few on the lightday too.

In high level crafting, when skilling up, should I use Adv. Support or not? In my case the gap is 3 levels, I'm 95 and the synth is 98 cap...I have all 3 GP items , so Moghancment Woodwork with overwhelming earth energy. Is Adv. support necessary or is it overkill and does it actually lessen chance of skillup? Is there any other day I should try this synth for skillup(its with earth crystal)? Or any other hints for skillup earning at high levels are appreciated. I heard in my Ls today that doing a bunch of trivial synths such as ammo or tools right before your skillup synths actually increases skillup rate...after trying that I got my only .2 skillups of the whole 1.5mill sesh(bout 30 synths).

I have a few questions specifically for you Severus(if you read this). What level did you start Cythara Anglica? Should I just stick to Laquer Sap til 96, then do Cythara anglica...cause at 95 I'm gettin crap for skillup on Cyth Ang. and I'm just not rich enough to lose that kind of gil at the moment and get nothing out of it, lol.

thanks for any help

3 level gap is weak, you want to synth on day of crystal, no advanced support, full moon preferred probably, but normally moon phase didnt make a huge difference for skillup , just avoid the 40-60% moon phases

Thanks Volrath^^

I surfed around on the net and found this site:

http://www.iluvitar.com/sections/ffxi/c ... timer.html

Following this I ended up getting 0.3 skillup from 6 synths...it was awesome, I'm almost creamed myself, almost.

This site doesn't incorporate the use of GP items...so I just didn't use em and removed my Moghancement. I faced SE for Earth, it was lightsday and the moon was waxing at 62%. But, basically by following what it says on this chart I can get skillup any day (like Volrath said) without adv support, no moghancement ww and by juggling my gloves and apron, some days wear one, somedays both and somedays nothing at all.

I'm stoked...now I just need some more frickin' gil
